    Over weight an fatty liver

It's my understanding there are two types of fatty liver disease. One is alcoholic and one is non-alcoholic. I have the non-alcoholic type, which is caused by eating too much carbs and fat, if I understand it correctly. I'm sure it's not just the milk alone causing yours.

    Suggestion

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but what about adding some chat rooms?

I got massive bruising and lumps with those injections. I think it is normal, but I'm not a doctor and it's always good to check on these things when in doubt. Hope the swelling goes down soon! The injections suck, but not as much as getting a blood clot. :-)

    Over weight an fatty liver

I've been diagnosed with fatty liver (NASH) since 1987. I have to be careful, always, about "white" carbs & sugar. Even at my best weight, those things could trigger liver pain. As to how your condition affects it, do you see an endocrinologist? Someone should be able to give you specific type of diet to help with both that and the weight loss. Milk products do contain sugar (lactose), but since I don't like them, I have no experience with how they affect fatty liver. Prayers for a good outcome for you.

    Revision to rny

Has anyone had a revision from sleeve to rny? How long was the procedure? How has the process been so far? I didn't see a board for this, just from band to rny. TIA!

    Exercise!?! What's that?

Hi there! I was in the same boat as you, not having exercised since my mid 20s (fifty years old now). I was not completely inactive given it's impossible to get around NYC and the subways without climbing stairs and walking. The best thing to start is to walk and take stairs. If you have hills walk at inclines. Walk at a pace that gets your heart rate up. This assumes you have no joint issues and are cleared by your doctor to do so. I was interested in developing strength and flexibility so I hired a trainer given I probably had a pretty good shot at injuring myself without learning proper movements and form. I got lucky and found someone who owns a small boutique studio who is trained and educated in different disciplines. Two months later I am without question stronger, more flexible and have better balance. As others will tell you what drives the weight loss is diet. However as the weight has come off I can now work on my other things I would like to accomplish with my well being.

    Lap Band vs Sleeve

I had the band put in back in 2008. I spent a miserable five years. I was banded at 263, and didn't lose more than 15 pounds. I could eat a teeny piece of scrambled egg, have it get stuck, and spend the day sliming until it would finally get unstuck 12 or 14 hours later. I ended up developing a wicked sweet tooth. I couldn't eat healthy food, so I started eating slider foods- stuff that would go down easily. I sank into a deep depression, because seriously- I went to the extreme of having weight loss surgery and was STILL a failure! I gained back the fifteen pounds that I lost, and i had it removed in 2012. I ended up maintaining my weight for a few years, then hit age 40 and ballooned up to 305. Last year I stumbled back onto WLS sites, and that's when I discovered that it wasn't ME who was a failure- it was the band. I couldn't believe how many other people had stories just like mine. I literally read hundreds of stories where people suffered just like me. I was sleeved two weeks ago, and already I can see a huge difference. I could go on and on. My only regret is not doing this earlier. And I wish I had discovered earlier that I wasn't the only person having trouble with the band. The mental anguish was almost as bad as the physical discomfort.

    Two glass of red wine

So glad you decided not to....the risk is just not worth the relax. I'd suggest hot tea and a warm bath, or aromatherapy. But my go to would be Xanax, lol.

    How much can you eat?

Pureed foods is basically liquid. Liquids flow through our new stomachs really easy, that's part of why we are only allowed Pureed at this point. Don't test your stomach like that with the water experiment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not worth it!! If you are concerned you can eat too much...than don't eat that much. You will find out how much solids you can handle when you move on to that stage. Liquids just flow through, solids is where the real test will be. And, I'm saying this with love and support, stop eating 12 ozs of food just because you can. Period. You didn't go through this major life change just to turn around and eat too much. Stick to the 4-6 oz's. Even if you are physically capable of ingesting more liquid than that right now.
