    Over weight an fatty liver

It's my understanding there are two types of fatty liver disease. One is alcoholic and one is non-alcoholic. I have the non-alcoholic type, which is caused by eating too much carbs and fat, if I understand it correctly. I'm sure it's not just the milk alone causing yours.

Very excited this morning. Good things have been coming my way all week. I finally got over my stall (which ended up being dehydration) and have entered "onederland". I have gone from a 40J to a 36H (start weight at 256). And to wrap it up even more nicely, my husband had an very successful surgery for his battle with cancer this Friday. Very excited and happy and a million other things.

    Suggestion

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but what about adding some chat rooms?

The only liquid I'm not able to get in at a faster speed is the Premier protein shakes and I think that's because they're thick. When it comes to any clear soups or any warm liquids I am able to get those down at a much faster rate and I don't feel any fullness Sensation from them. So I'm guessing the warmth of the soup helps it go down much smoother I'm not sure. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Over weight an fatty liver

I've been diagnosed with fatty liver (NASH) since 1987. I have to be careful, always, about "white" carbs & sugar. Even at my best weight, those things could trigger liver pain. As to how your condition affects it, do you see an endocrinologist? Someone should be able to give you specific type of diet to help with both that and the weight loss. Milk products do contain sugar (lactose), but since I don't like them, I have no experience with how they affect fatty liver. Prayers for a good outcome for you.

    Revision to rny

Has anyone had a revision from sleeve to rny? How long was the procedure? How has the process been so far? I didn't see a board for this, just from band to rny. TIA!

    Exercise!?! What's that?

Hi there! I was in the same boat as you, not having exercised since my mid 20s (fifty years old now). I was not completely inactive given it's impossible to get around NYC and the subways without climbing stairs and walking. The best thing to start is to walk and take stairs. If you have hills walk at inclines. Walk at a pace that gets your heart rate up. This assumes you have no joint issues and are cleared by your doctor to do so. I was interested in developing strength and flexibility so I hired a trainer given I probably had a pretty good shot at injuring myself without learning proper movements and form. I got lucky and found someone who owns a small boutique studio who is trained and educated in different disciplines. Two months later I am without question stronger, more flexible and have better balance. As others will tell you what drives the weight loss is diet. However as the weight has come off I can now work on my other things I would like to accomplish with my well being.

    Two glass of red wine

So glad you decided not to....the risk is just not worth the relax. I'd suggest hot tea and a warm bath, or aromatherapy. But my go to would be Xanax, lol.

    Protein powder with no concentrate?

I am an independent Ambassador with Plexus and RNY post surgery PT. We have a great protein powder in chocolate and vanilla called P96 as it's only 96 cals helps with sustained energy, helps control hunger and curb cravings, builds lean muscle, 15 g of hi quality whey protein, gluten free, 100% vegetarian, Non-GMO vanilla. After surgery, we need to repair the gut flora in our stomach and intestines and 70-80% of our immune system lies in our gut. That means that's where our health lies. We need to take such great care of increasing the good gut bacteria and microflora and ridding the bad bacteria as well as keeping some of the good. What Plexus products do is to assist with this process by increasing this process by pre and probiotics in amounts more than is offered in stores plus they do much more. And we have biotics to help with pain, mood and stress, and nerve pain, heart health, vitamins, and as a Nurse these REALLY REALLY WORK!! Let me know if I can help your stomach in this process.
