    Sleeved 8/29/17

These pictures are the start of my journey, they were taken 8/28/17 the night prior to my surgery. Currently this is my second bariatric surgery prior I was banded 8/4/07 I went from 350 to my lowest point was 185. I maintained that weight for a good 5 years and slowly started to regain weight when my lap band started to fail me. I began aspirating in my sleep, couldn't eat unless I was standing etc. My surgeon decided it was time to revise and go with something more economical and less possibility for other health issues.

    Curious

I went for the SIPS DS, today is actually my first day back to work. My doc put me out til the 20th but I feel fine working today. I am having issues with my incisions but that is my only issue with the surgery. I'm too early in the process to give you nutritional advice or information so I'll hold off on that. Pain was manageable, honestly I could have went back to work even earlier but.. I didn't want to! The SIPS is a single anastamoses and my common channel is 300cm. I lost 16lbs preop and then 24lbs in the past month (since august 8th) Best decision I ever made! Good Luck with whatever you decide

@Aginn10 MY tastebuds have not changed at all. I also gave up soda like 2 years before surgery, and it took me a really long time to do it, so I am pretty dedicated to not drinking soda. The only time I have something carbonated is with alcohol, but I don't really drink. I gave up alcohol a few years before surgery also. I did both in an effort to lose weight and be healthy, I wasn't thinking about WLS at the time. When I gave up sugar, alcohol and soda and still wasn't losing weight in large numbers that is one of the things that pushed me to surgery. Taste has nothing to do with not having it, carbonation just involves things that don't benefit me or my goals. If I am going to drink alcohol I have to change my macros and calories for 2 days, it isn't worth wasting the calories on alcohol I could spend on pork chops. I think of my calories as currency, alcohol is a poor value compared to meat. I love food, I'm a foodie. I eat lots of great and interesting stuff. I just refuse to waste calories. I was food snob before and I am more of a food snob now. I was a picky eater before, no leftovers, food has to be piping hot, my food can't touch. Tastebuds are unchanged. Lifestyle is changed.

    PRE-OP

I am 3 weeks post, I buy as I go because after surgery things taste different. I wouldn't stock up too much... you may find that you can't stand some things you liked prior to surgery. Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6ish HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 208 GW: Healthy
