I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. I've been through something similar when my boss was unexpectedly laid off. It's a scary and stressful time. But rest assured that you will still be able to keep your health insurance! Under federal law, you must be given the opportunity to enroll in COBRA. It probably won't be cheap, but you can still have surgery and continue your coverage. It shouldn't have any impact on your surgery at all. Another thought is that the HR dept must be very careful about what they say (or what is communicated to you) in these situations. In my experience, they won't lie to you and say there won't be any changes if it isn't true. Instead, you'd most likely have less information than you already do if there were more cuts coming your way. Still, I understand the uncertainty of the whole situation, but seriously doubt they'd tell you that and then turn around and do something else in your meeting. Hang in there. Sending positive energy your way!! [emoji5] HW 280 CW 263 SW 274 DOS 8/24/17

    Weight gain

Hi, I am 2 years out RNY. Right after surgery I kept weighing myself and obsessing. A couple of weeks after, when I had settled down I was in front of the mirror and it hit me 40lbs. was just gone! It was amazing! I have gained & lost a few lbs here & there and you will hit stalls but they don't last forever. I'm not sorry I did this & I had a fantastic Dr. Good Luck with your program. Just drink your water, get your protein in & exercise and you'll be ok!

Good luck on your journey! I recently went clothes shopping because nothing fit anymore. Non-scale victories along the way are great motivators and I wish the same success for you!

I bought some new clothes for some upcoming work and fun trips. I am now in 32 waist slim-fit jeans and size small button-downs. Who would have ever thought this could happen when I started at 400 pounds?!?

    Problem with purging

Hi , I don't know if you saw my post, but I was bulimic many years. I ended up doing it once recently it was like a reflex to feeling full, but I did not over eat either. Yes you 100% could be hurting your new stomach, acid etc. You need to speak to your surgeon asap. And your doctor. You need to get back in with a therapist to discuss what may be triggering this for you , we sometimes think its nothing but actually it is something that may not even be at the for front of your mind.

Only piece I can offer is go back to the basics. Don't let yourself get lax with your diet.

Firstly, huge props & congratulations to you. Secondly, you do look fabulous but you're the one who decides what is your best weight; however, I would give a lot of thought re: what your surgeon says. Thirdly, a great therapist will help you see what you look like vs you seeing yourself & the old fat person you were. Fourthly, Pilates Reformer workouts will lengthen your slim self & you will get that beautiful dancer's body if you're looking for that. Lastly, let us know how you did accomplish your 10 mo weight loss & fabulous goal. I'm 6 wks post-op & need all the help possible with any pointers you can share to help me reach my weight loss goal. I've lost 31 lbs since my May 24th surgery, I started at 217 lbs & my weight goal is 115 lbs. I have just begun to tolerate eating tiny bites of certain foods. Thank you for your photos & sharing with us. You look fabulous! Sent from my SCH-I545 using BariatricPal mobile app

You look great! As for losing more weight- it's your journey and you get to do what you want! What do you do for exercise?

No, I have no requirement for two days of clear diet, but I do need to take a colon clense the day before (Magnesium Citrate) at 3pm and 7pm and only clear liquids after I start that. As far as GNC, I do have one of them local, but I have lost all faith in them when the lady told me all of the Protein powders are mostly the same, it doesn't really matter which one I choose. I have done further google'ing and seem to find that low carb is better than low calorie or low fat diets. But I agree about contacting your surgeon. Mine does not seem to have a preference because it is mainly for the habit for the post-op diet, but I just want to optimize my personal surgery success.
