    Sex after Surgery??

I'm wondering how long people waited to have sex again post-surgery? (My husband is the one wondering more than me...) I know everyone is different, but I'm just curious. Sorry if it's a strange question, but sex is a part of life! [emoji13]

Hey There!!! My surgery is August 30th as well. I am as nervous as I can be. But you are so right. The positive effects this will have on our lives is going to be a game changer. I keep worrying that my liver hasn't shrunk enough, or that something will go wrong.... but then I stop and remember that it will all be ok. I'm going to come out of this just fine and you will too!! Good luck to you, keep us updated!!

I have chronic acid reflex and I have a hernia the surgeon wanted to remove the hernia and do the sleeve so that after surgery the heart burn that comes with the sleeve wont be even worse, but after my endoscopy the acid in my stomach is so much worse they don't think the repair of the hernia would do much so the bypass would be best for me I currently take up to 4 40mg of nexium a day to get by with heart burn

Surgeons who won't set a goal?

My surgeon didn't give me a goal either. He said we should wait to see how things go and kept repeating not to drink my calories and to make sure I'm exercising. His nurse said "keep your goals close", which I took to mean short-term, easily attainable goals. I told her I don't really care about goals as long as the numbers continue to go down. I think that right after surgery, the only goal is to get your protein and fluids in and get moving. It's not the time to be worrying about the long-term big picture. I'm at 5 weeks and I'm still struggling with getting back to semi-normal eating. After being restricted for so long between the pre- and post-op liquids and the early post-op stages, it's hard to remember what I was doing when I was eating normal, healthy food (I lost almost 40 lbs. in the 4 months before I started the pre-op liquid diet just from following the nutritionist's guidelines and tracking).

    Full liquids post op

Thanks..... I took 3-1/2 hours to drink an 11oz protein shake yesterday. Today I had 4 oz strained creamy soup in an hour and wanted more but stopped there. I'll have more for dinner

    Smoking ****** & Drinking Alcohol

I don't smoke so no help there but I waited 6 months for a drink per my Drs recommendation. I have no issue with drinking now, same tolerance as before but I feel like it's wasted calories so I never go beyond a glass of wine on occasion.
