    Horrible bathroom problems

A couple of low carb docs recommend taking a daily teaspoon of MOM just to keep things functioning and help with getting in enough magnesium. I know WLS is different, but I end up having to do this. Hope you feel the earth move soon!

    August Mexico surgeries?

Well had my sleeve with Dr Kelly on August 2 as planned, I am back home now. Very happy with the experience everything went very well. A little sore with mild nausea but no gas pains for the first post op day but I was feeling up to walking to the shops and Sams' club of all places on day 3. I feel like I am nearly 100% now. Was planning to take a week off from work but honestly I think I will go back in a couple of days. Good luck to everyone with their upcoming surgeries.

I stalled, too, at the end of week 3 and didn’t move until today, 4 weeks later. My nutritionist helped me figure it out. It may not be the same for any of you but for me it was WATER. Plain, nasty, no flavor, stomach filling water. I had been using Crystal Light and Propel and although I have been drinking my fill of fluid every day, I haven’t been drinking plain water. Sometimes the artificial sweeteners make you hold on to weight. I switched to plain water two days ago, replacing my Propel and Crystal Light and bam! I dropped 3 lbs. I still use Splenda in my coffee and I drink Premier Protein shakes twice a day, but the plain water was ticket. Its not the same for everyone. I’m older and my metabolism is lower but if you aren’t drinking enough water, taking your multivitamin, or getting the protein, your body can hold on to every single pound. Just some friendly advice from someone who was there...just 2 short days ago!! Good luck!!

Getting off track and regaining weight is so frustrating and discouraging! This is why I created a tool to help people get back on track. It's called RESET: Getting back on track after bariatric surgery. It's an online course where you watch the videos at your own pace. It can be found at https://resetbariatric.com Who am I and why should you trust me? I'm Katy Harvey, a dietitian, and I specialize in bariatric surgery and the psychology of eating. I'm also an expert in binge eating disorder and emotional overeating. I've helped hundreds of people find peace with food and their body. Let me know if you have any questions! Katy

    Introversion

    Now I'm mad

Perhaps it's time to start adding additional food. Seriously... The best stall-buster is a sudden increase in calories, protein, and water. You will likely continue to experience stalls if you attempt to maintain a low caloric intake. Our bodies are astute and will adapt to the morsels we feed them if the intake is too low for too long. I started increasing my caloric intake in a stepwise pattern at 4 months out. Back then, I bumped it up from 800 calories daily to the 1000-1200 range each day. At 6 months out I was regularly eating 1200 to 1400 calories a day. At 9 months out I had gotten up to about 1500 calories a day. By 1 year out I routinely ate 1500 to 1700 calories a day. I am now 2+ years out and maintain in the 2000+ calorie-per-day range, while those who kept their intake too low for too long seem to rapidly regain if they eat more than 1200 calories daily.

    What should I do ? ...

Call after August 7 - give the scheduler a day to get back in the office, listen to the 700 voicemails and emails and start to respond and then give a call on the 8th. If you're lucky, s/he will answer the phone and say, oh, I was just about to call you. . . . .

    2 days post op

I agree. I had to have a "conversation" or two myself. I was sleeved May 17th of this year and was in ICU until June 2nd. I am 50 more pounds down since surgery for a total of 120 pounds since my journey to wellness began February 2016. #197MoreToGo. #VGSSavedMyLife Sent from my XT1097 using BariatricPal mobile app
