    Milestone!

I hit 249 on scale today! First time in as many years as I can remember (probably 7 years or more) that I've been below 250! Success is possible! Those who struggle - keep at it and celebrate the little victories! Sent from my LG-TP450 using BariatricPal mobile app

    The day is here!

Thank you the well wishes everyone. I am feeling great. No pain felt at the surgical site but I suffered from nausea immediately after surgery and gas back pain all day yesterday. This morning it literally vanished. So I've been walking every hour on hour and feeling great today.

This is similar to the sample menu I was given. I understand it's a good concept but I know my dietician wanted to to start eating that way at 3 weeks. I am 8 weeks out and I have to wait at least any hour after I eat to be able to drink or I can feel it. Then I am finally able to drink about 6 oz at a time, but then I have to wait at least a half hr before I can drink more. On the days I work its hard sometimes to even get a lunch break sometimes. I do 12 hr shifts, unfortunately we've been understaffed for over a year now making it worse. But I do have to eat multiple times a day to get enough protein. Yesterday I had 2 eggs before I left for work at 6 am. While at work anytime I went to the back to grab something for a patient I passed the break room, so I stop and drink some water. Around 10 am I ate a string cheese. At 1 pm I ate a 20 gm protein bar for lunch. At 5:30 I had a Greek yogurt. When I got home at 8:30 I had 2 oz of chicken for dinner. During the day I was able to get in about 36 oz of fluid and 77 gm of protein. Ideally I shouldn't be eating dinner that late, and yes I should get more fluid in. But I feel for working on a busy floor at the hospital I did pretty good and there's no way I could've done it without snacks in between meals. I haven't gotten to the point where I'm able to add in vegetables yet though bc I get full off the protein but I know it will come in time. At home I can do a little better without the time constraints of work.

I'm going through a stall too, and it is disappointing. So many give you some great advice, and you should read back on the posts to see it. My surgery was 6/14, and I'm suffering through a 2.5 week stall. I know it won't be long before I start to lose again, but it is depressing. Good luck and hang in there! I'm right with you!!!

    2 days post-op...

Yes all normal! I had all of those. Gas pains are bad the whole first week. Low HR is from the pain meds. I had it too.

    ...two more days!

Me too...the closer I get the more nervous - which is probably normal. The old me is looking for excuses, I am not giving any. Good luck Monday- I am sure we will both rock this...

    On the way

HI all. I had my sleeve surgery on 30 March 2017 at Gisborne Hospital in New Zealand. I was 178.6 (393.7 Pounds) at my heaviest in November 2016. Weighed 156.4 (344.8 pounds)on the day of my surgery and now weigh 117.5 kg (259 pounds). It has not been easy at times but I am now walking between 75 kilometres (46 miles) and 100 kilometres (62 miles) a week with my dog (who has also lost 2.5 kgs!). I am going all the way and will never go back. I know that I will have hard times ahead but have really mind shifted the way I look at food. Smart protein is everything at the moment for all meals. I admire each and everyone of you who have had or are considering this journey - Kia Kaha! This is a Maori phrase from New Zealand meaning "be strong". Let us try our very best and not be too hard on ourselves.
