Hi Pam, Thank you so so much for your kind words and encouragement. That's very sweet of you and you made me feel like I'm not alone in this. I'm so happy things are going well with you and that you've recovered beautifully. It's so funny because you said something I've been thinking which is that I'm hoping to go out to dinner with friends or family and not be a weirdo when the food comes lol I can't wait till that time comes and I can feel somewhat normal. I just can't wait to be home next months and I'm sure it'll make things better. I do take protein shakes now 30g of protein each but since starting week 4 today I'll limit it to only one shake and see how that goes. I think maybe what I'm feeling is that head hunger also like you said and since I'm here alone I guess I've turned to good whenever I was bored or had any other emotions going on. Now it's just hard to figure out what to do but thank God I have a dog so he does keep me company [emoji252][emoji4]

    Vitamins

I'm taking the liquid vitamins and it's been just fine! On regular vitamins pre-operation they really upset my stomach whether I ate or not! So you might want to try the liquid vitamins! I bought mine on here and that's how I learned about these forums! Good. Luck

    Vitamins

Are you taking them on an empty stomach? They really should be taken with food. Multivitamins contain the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Without food, these vitamins won't absorb properly because they need to be taken in the presence of fat molecules (read: food) for our bodies to derive any benefit from them.

If I put 4oz of solid chicken on my plate, I'm sure that I would STRUGGLE through eating it. But when it's 4oz of a mix of things, some chicken, some fruit, some cheese, etc -- it's much easier. So in this case, it could have less to do with how much you're eating as WHAT you're eating? Honestly, until recently I found many meats very difficult. I'm 8 months out now and its' settled a lot, but it's still easier for me to do cheese...

Hi everyone! I'm me and nervous. I just turned 60 years old. I think I'm officially grown up now. I'm young at heart, goofing around with my grandchildren all nine of them. I have had crohns disease since I was 19'years old. I still managed to make it through nursing school and more ask retired after 35 years. My husband and I have custody of three of our grandchildren after our son in law died and our daughter ran away. One of the things I would like to run by the members is my feeling of selfishness about having this gastric sleeve. I'm overweight, diabetes, hip replacement and crohns. I feel that if I didn't make it through surgery, it would absolutely devastate the grandkids again! I never thought I could even have a sleeve done due to having all of my colon and rectum removed. So, I have an ileostomy. I have a huge hernia at the site. I went to Duke University and the gastroenterologist suggested I have weight loss surgery because if he repairs the hernia, the weight will cause it to come back. I'm scheduled in three months.

Totally normal. I mean everyone is different, but this is a pattern many of us see. My doc/nutritionist didn't tell me specific amounts I had to get "up to" but I couldn't have eaten 3oz at 5 weeks. I still have days I can't eat 3oz of a protein like chicken. Other days I can. And I am four years out! And I had no interest in food for months. Some people are different, but this is totally normal!!! Don't push to eat more than satisfies you, it's a bad bad habit to get into... it's over eating. And it will change and improve. You will be able to eat more and the desire to eat WILL come back. So make the most of this window!

Eveeybody loses in a different speed. All depend on ur intial weight, activity, calories intake, etc. at the begging my doc said I was loosing faster than the average but them came month 4 and 5 and my weight now its going really slow. On 7/14 was my 5 month and I lost 60% of they weight I want to lose (not even sure if my weight goal its what my doc have in mind he told me I should lose 10lb a month and I already lost 82lb) anyway if you doc didn't say anything is because you are doing the right way. Keep it up w your great job

    9 weeks out

It took me 4 months to lose 40 pounds, yet I'm not griping. Your weight loss journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Slow and steady wins the race, while fast and crass won't last. The final result is more important than the speed at which we lose the weight. I've lost 100 pounds, attained my goal weight, and have managed to keep the weight off. That's what's important. Good luck to you.
