    2 months post op

First picture is from November 2016 at 303 pounds. The second picture is from tonight. Same clothes. I had to hold my pants from falling to the floor. Tomorrow, I will be two months post op and weigh in at 231. So glad I made the decision for WLS.

    Energy levels after VSG?

I went back to work after 7 days. There is no time of the year that is not busy for me and I typically work 6 days a week 60-70 hours a week. The energy level thing has been a mixed bag. I find I am less focused than I was before surgery, tend to be moodier (my period so far has stopped since surgery) and need about an hour more of sleep at night. On the other hand I wake up easily in the morning, experience being more rested than before surgery and physically just feel a lot better. In addition I no longer have diabetes or borderline blood pressure. My vitamin D levels are normal and the subway commute (which in NY involves lots of stairs) is no longer daunting. I have had to change my sleep habits to have this work. I no longer stay up until 2 am. I feel like my energy levels are just returning. But I would not trade it off the benefits the surgery gave me.

This was a post about switching surgeons at the last minute. They had gone through everything and were waiting on insurance approval, but they found another hospital a few hours away with more surgeries per year and fewer complications and wanted advice on if they should switch and how to do it. Not sure why that merited a delete! *shrug*

    9 weeks out

It took me 4 months to lose 40 pounds, yet I'm not griping. Your weight loss journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Slow and steady wins the race, while fast and crass won't last. The final result is more important than the speed at which we lose the weight. I've lost 100 pounds, attained my goal weight, and have managed to keep the weight off. That's what's important. Good luck to you.

    Supplement hair vitamins

You can take hair vitamins but hair loss post op is not vitamin related and vitamins aren't going to stop your hair from shedding if it is going to shed. All vitamins can do is help your hair grow back faster.

    New to this Journey

Glad you had them to call, it's just good to know what you're facing financially. The myCigna app was my best friend, because I would check almost everyday to see what claims have been submitted and how close I was to my deductible and out of pocket max.
