You are seriously over thinking this. Tell him you are having surgery. His reaction is going to tell you if he is the man you should be marrying or not. Married people keep secrets from the rest of the world all the time. If he can't keep your secret he isn't worth marrying.

Meat. I almost never eat breakfast for breakfast. Maybe 2 times a month.

    Oatmeal?

My doc approves oatmeal during the puréed stage, it's in my approved list. They did say to eliminate it after going into the solid stage for 6 months (makes no sense to me)

Thanks so much, everyone. It isn't even the numbers as much as the labels. I want my weight to be "normal" rather than overweight or obese. I am taking on board your advice to just keep going and not focus on the labels. I am going to have to work on that a bit. Otherwise my head seems in the right space.

    Protein

In the first 3- 6 months before you can eat enough real food, you have to force those protein shakes down. I hated them with a passion but I knew it was supremely important to weight loss and maintaining muscle mass so I drank them anyway, gagging all the way. You can also try the Premier Protein Clear protein waters - 90 calories and 20g protein. I generally don't tolerate drinks with artificial sweeteners but I actually like them. Also Fairlife milk has 13g of protein per cup. Make your protein shakes with Fairlife and you get an extra protein boost.

    Protein

I usually get around 60+. I've had a few days in the 50's. I try to drink a shake if I'm too low. I'm only 7 weeks out.

Losing support from a loved one

Please don't take this as me being a Debbie Downer, but the way my life has worked, I have learned that I can't count on anyone to support me. Many may say they will, but very few do. My husband has been a solid support, but now that I'm 25 pounds from goal, he is suggesting we eat and do things that are not good for my new lifestyle. Therefore, buck up, Sister -- you've got this. You got yourself this far and will go all the way. While it is nice to have some help from others, this is something you need to do. You are fierce. You are stronger than you think. You've got this,

    Where To Start?

Thanks for the responses. I contacted a bariatric program. I had to participate in a free seminar and fill out some forms. Once I return the forms they will contact my inurance and we will see what i need to do from there forward. It is so exciting even taking this small step! Quick question my bmi is like 56 and is my only diagnosed if you will reason so get this surgery. Is it safe for me to loose weight before this whole process is done? I would have to loose almost 100 lbs to be under the 40 bmi cut off.
