    Your brain after bariatric surgery

Your logical side: It is just a stall. You knew about the 3rd week stall, you were aware. It happens to everybody. It will pass, you'll see. Your body is just adjusting. You are losing inches. Even if it takes a while, you will lose weight just from eating less food. Just be patient. Your emotional side: *crying hysterically* You are a failure! You will be the first person in the Universe to go thru this and not lose weight! Just give up. Nothing you can do. Your stall will last forever. You will not lose another pound. Tell me it isn't true...

Sure, it is a very good question. I would double-check with your surgeon just in case, but I think it will be fine.

I think only your surgeon can answer this, and without a spleen you will be more prone to infection, but I doubt it would disqualify you from WLS surgery.

    Yogurt question

    You are quite welcome!

It's your IV fluids. I'm 8 days post op and came home 6lbs heavier than pre-surgery weight. Now 8 lbs lighter than pre-surgery weight on day 8. Don't worry!

    Yogurt question

Protein is the most important thing right now next to water. If the yogurt you listed is truly the only thing you can tolerate right now, then do it just to get some protein in. Just know you should transition to healthier option as soon as possible.

I gained 9 pounds.... so you are ahead of me... it does come off. My surgeon actually asked me why I weighed myself... stay away from the scale for a few days... it is all the extra fluid you had... I did not get steroids but plenty of IV fluid. Don't despair

Very common. They pump you full of steroids which makes you retain water, then they pump you full of fluids on top of it. The xtra weight should fall off rapidly. Congrats on taking the plunge. All the best on your journey!

I am 4 weeks out and now allowed 1/2 a piece of whole grain/whole wheat toast, 2 whole grain crackers, brown rice, quinoa and there is one more I can't remember. I am on what is considered a "soft diet" at this point. Carbs are not bad! We need carbs it's the kind of carbs you eat that makes the difference and causes weight gain. Everyone handles things differently though and some may not be able to eat these things and every plan is different. I'm good with the half slice of toast I don't feel full I don't feel sick I also eat it with an over easy egg on it for breakfast. So I am getting protein and fiber. I can make one suggestion, I am not having surgery until June, but I have been trying different protein shakes and finally found one that tastes like regular chocolate milk! Its Jay Robb whey protein shakes. I got them online! Good luck.
