I had my surgery 11/8/16. By April, 2017 I was already down 55 lbs. Since then, the scale hasn't gone down anymore. It has gone up and down within 4 lbs. and that's it. I am beyond frustrated. I eat super healthy and drink plenty of fluids. I know I could definitely use more time at the gym, but I wouldn't think to where it would cause this much of a stall. Has anybody else hit a stall that has lasted this long in the beginning of their weight loss journey? Any input is greatly appreciated. I really need some positive words to help me along. Thanks everyone!

    No Special Pre-Op Diet?

So I spoke to my surgeon last week and he told me to just continue on my low carb, high protein diet leading up to my sleeve surgery this Tuesday, July 11th. The Hospital told me to not eat anything after midnight the day of surgery but that's it. I'm kind of shocked because everyone seems to be on a special pre-op diet prior to surgery. I have lost nearly 80 pounds in 6 months since I started the process so my thought was perhaps this is the reason why he's not altering my diet prior to surgery. Also my surgeon did confirm I'll have a catheter for the surgery. As a male, I'm so not looking forward to that! Anyways anyone out there not been asked to be on special pre-op diet? If so, any recommendations what I should eat the day before surgery? Should I just try to keep it to liquids only?

    Suggestions and Help

One of my favorite grab and go lunches might be the healthiest, but I like it. I purchased a bag of frozen meatballs at Coscto, carbs are very low and protein high. The serving size is 5, but I only eat 3-4 and am full. Season with salt/pepper. I snack on cheese during the day too.

Not sure how much your tummy can hold, but the trick with keto, and other low-carb diets is to actually limit your meat/protein to 3oz, 3 times a day, and fill up the rest of the time on green veggies (add some nuts or cheese to round out your protein goal}. Test it out to see how much green stuff you can eat after eating 3oz of protein. If only a bite or two, then eat your protein and veggies separately. 3 oz of raw spinach and 3 oz cooked spinach look very different in the bowl.. see which one you can eat more of... I mention spinach, specifically, because I'll eat about 4oz cooked, and stuff is like a laxitive for me. (I do add a teaspoon of oive oil and a splash of vinegar and some spices for flavor). Green veggies need a little fat to help you absorb the fat-soluble vitamins.

I go by weeks an months. I'm 15 weeks out right now. July 17th, which is a Monday, same day as my surgery, I'll be 17 weeks, and on July 20th I'll be 4 months.

Thanks for everyone's input. My daughter just turned 7 and this is such a big day for her, so I'll go ahead and reschedule the surgery. I know its just a 4 week delay but I am soooo ready!

    Is something wrong with me?

Joann455 I just passed my 3 month anniversary of my surgery. Since starting the preop diet I have lost 56 lbs. I still feel quite a bit of restriction and can only take in about 3 ounces of meat before approaching feeling full.
