    Fourth of July worries?

Nope not at all. I've had those bad food choices and alcoholic beverages my entire life and it hasn't gotten me that far. So, I am looking forward to the complete lifestyle change. You won't miss it! Good luck [emoji2]

To quote: "(I know, I would have knocked the outta her too)" Seriously? Ever considered how serious a plague violence against women is in our society? I'd keep that one to yourself. Or better still get your head right before you worry about a third party's reported experience of body image issues.

    The relationship impact

This is one of my concerns . . . I've been seeing a man who likes me at this size (mysterious to me, but I appreciate it). I'm wondering if he will be turned off when I'm a more normal weight and especially by the loose skin (and saggy breasts?). I need to do this for my health, but I'm a little concerned about this. I'll just wait and see what happens . . .

It has nothing to do with personality disorders and everything to do with what each 10 pounds lost brings to your life. With me, the first 10 pounds was before surgery. It was a great loss, but not much changing. Now, post surgery, every 10 pounds I have lost has brought new changes, new challenges to overcome, a new person every 10 pounds basically. The first 10 was a denial within myself that despite the weight loss that anything was really changing with my body. The second 10 was a realization that I can't wear most of my wardrobe because it's all too big. Along with that realization came the realization that I'm wearing clothes I haven't worn in 20 years. Is 90% of the changes psychological? Yes! Did they constitute mental disorders? Do a lot of us have mental issues? Yes! But the changes that come with the rapid weight loss are NOT serious personality disorders!!! I can't believe one would even correlate a personality disorder with the changes that we all undergo as a result of our respective surgeries! Nervous about going under!

I'm 4 days post op and this was my first surgery. My biggest fear was not waking up from the anesthesia but I had decided it was a necessary risk in order to get my weight and health under control. You're definitely better off having surgery at a younger age while still healthy as opposed to having a heart attack or something else down the road. After having the procedure done, I can look back and realize I was worrying much more than I should have. All of the pre-op testing and analysis that goes on before they will even put you under goes to show that you probably won't be recommended for surgery if you are a risk. Thousands of people go under anesthesia every day and the doctors really do know what they are doing. They are in complete control of your body while you are under since you have a breathing tube and they are monitoring and controlling blood pressure, oxygen, etc. The worst part of it for me was a headache and sore throat for a day or two. The biggest thing I wasn't prepared for was the pain, nausea, and inability to eat/drink for a few days due to the sleeve. It has gotten better every day though and the lbs are coming off so I'm still glad I went through with it. Be sure your mentally prepared for the journey, its not easy at first, but It may be one of the best decisions of your life! Best of luck! Have you asked your Dr about the Stretta procedure? I'm told it was originated for sleevers with chronic GERD. I'm actually going back to my doctor for and endoscopy to see if i'm a candidate. My Dr suspects I have a hiatal hernia. This GERD is kicking my ass. I'm 3 years out.
