    Belly Fat is stubborn

I hate to say this, but your stomach might not change shape. It may get smaller, but every WLS patient I know still has their basic body shape. I've always had a big stomach. Now that I'm nearly three years past surgery, I still have a big stomach. I weigh a lot less & my stomach is smaller, but it's still big for my size. For other people, their hips are still big, maybe their butt is still big, whatever. I hope this makes sense. Good luck!

Sleeve is on Wednesday the 28th

Just going through the 2 week liguid diet. Only allowed 4 protein drinks and water. Getting through it. As of today down to 229 from 240 in 8 days. It's been rough the last 2 with being hungry. Switched my drinks to strawberry and chocolate and made it with my bullet with ice to make it like a shake. It's very good and helps to make it slower to drink. Fighting the allergies with being tired and soar throat, just took tylenol allergy for it. Need to get some energy back. Going to get the vitamins Monday before surgery on Wednesday. Legs and feet are starting to feel less swollen from the weight loss Wich is good for me, I retain water alot. My everyday and thoughts revolves around this new chapter in my life. Health issues and comfort food are my biggest issues. Always been able to loose weight before I hit 40, just can't fight against serious medical issues to even walk comfortably and two ankle/foot surgeries already. Another after the sleeve. Everyone has issues and that is why we are all here. Not to cure them all but to have tools to help our struggles how ever we can for better quality of life. I call my self a pear with legs! Small up top and bottom heavy...and it's not my waist. Thighs, hips and ass! Never will be proportioned. I'm ok with that. Just this body now keeps my physical activities very limited. Glad to be on here. Hope to learn, and support others. Here is to my last 5 days before a new chapter of being healthy and staying that way. It's my life!

It's peristalsis. It's completely normal unless accompanied by worrisome secondary effects. What's actually concerning is hearing nothing, but I will say the faster you eat, the faster stuff moves through you, so the higher likelihood of it being noisy.

Tastes definitely change after being sleeved...I didn't think it was true until it happened, lol. I also realized that last time I stocked up on too many things and I never used or had a desire to consume... I was so excited that I had jello and different broths/stocks to last me through an apocalypse! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Not ready !! Feeling scared.

I know exactly how you feel, I have never had surgery or been under any Anesthesia. I must admit I had an anxiety attack on Thursday because I was just thinking of it and I don't have a date yet! I don't know your spiritual beliefs, But I had to pray for strength and guidance to know that God is with me every step of the way and this his will that i will have this surgery. I need to let him take the wheel and get me through because I was taking on the burden on my own and it was consuming my thoughts. Yes I'm still nervous, but I'm getting better each day.. that I'm waiting for approval. You will get through it with a good support system and talking it out so it won't overwhelm you. You can do it!

When will I feel normal again?

Sleeved May 24. I felt normal again right at the one month mark when I was allowed to eat chicken, veggies, and fruit (very limited). I'm still taking prilosec twice a day and gas X.

How many ounces should I be eating?

Hey everyone!! I’m 6 months post op this 23rd and have lost 107 lbs since surgery! I’m ecstatic for my progress so far and need to lose about 40 more to be at my goal weight (fingers crossed). But lately I’ve been seeing myself being able to eat more that usual. I’ve went from 2-3 ounces to eat 4-5 ounces of food. Most of the time it consists of a good diet such as chicken salads or eggs, sausage , yogurt fruit and etc and I do keep up with my fluids. I just want to know if it’s normal to be eating this amount at 6 months post op? Also I don’t eat any carbs if it isn’t a pretzel here and there. I just want to be consistent and I’m scared that I maybe eating too much and my pouch has stretched !!! Any advice is appreciated Here’s a before and after pic!!!

Ok, so I know most of us have questions, answers and issues about excess skin and the removal of it, so I'm going to ask a few and hope for some advice/info/suggestions. Let me start by telling you that my VSG was paid for by the state (Rhode Island) and Medicare., I had my surgery on April 18, 2016. I had been overweight/obese for too long, started gaining weight when I was 8/9 and am currently 43.., (being classified as obese for one day is too long), My doctor told me not long ago that having my apron removed would be covered by my insurance but nothing else would be, am not sure if they are incorrect about nothing else being covered but am definitely wondering if I were to save for it out of pocket, how much would it cost typically (I know that the cost vary state-to-state and doctor to doctor)to have my thighs and arms done. Am wondering what kind of expenses anyone may have had for such treatments/surgeries/removals and how everyone healed (big scars,no scars?), How everyone feels after the removal etc etc. Now, I'm still a few months away from talking to my doctors about Plastics but I'm trying to get some advice and info ahead of time so I know what I'm looking at down the line., Any and all advice would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and Congratulations on all of yoursuccesses! [emoji3][emoji256] anything worth doing is Never easy [emoji3]
