Where is your Dr from? I also have never heard of any Dr recommending only water. Does he have a Nutritionist on staff? Have you spoken with her? Being in starvation mode is not going to allow you to heal.

So I was sleeved 2 weeks ago today and my surgeon is super strict he only wants me to have water, no vitamins, no protien, no broth just plain water! And it is working I'm already down 20 lbs but I'm so tired all the time its so hard to get any exercise in and I feel guilty all the time for being hungry! everyone says its just in my head but its not! Is any of this normal? Did anyone else go through this? Sent from my SM-J727P using BariatricPal mobile app

    LBL post op day 1

The pain is intense whenever I move, not gonna lie. I have ice on my side and crotch right now. And yesterday after surgery I had to go to the ER because of extreme bleeding from my rear incision. Fortunately my doctor met me there, checked everything, and assured me it was normal to have leakage especially in the first few days even though I have drains. It has subsided since then but is not completely done. But I had my binder off for the first time and I cried with joy at the sight of my flat stomach and the fact that I could see my hooha without lifting up a pile of fat or skin. I will take the pain for a lifetime of flat tummy any day! Time for my meds! Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

My favorites are Syntrax Nectar Sweets chocolate truffle and vanilla bean torte. The chocolate truffle is definitely tastier on its own but I use the vanilla bean as a base for other shakes such as a strawberry chocolate with frozen strawberries and cocoa powder, also some frozen riced cauliflower adds additional sweetness.

I am pretty certain that you must have mis understood him. Water has zero calories and while that may seem great even the most restrictive diets allow 500 calories. He may have said clear liquids but if that's the sacrifice needed to reach your goal , then keep strong and mix it up. Ice cubes, cold and room temperature water. Sounds gourmet doesn't it Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Nutritional tracker/calculator App?

I LOVE Baritastic! It's a tracking app specifically for bariatric patients and it's the best tracking app I've ever used! It's tracks everything - food, water, exercise, steps, measurements, weight, bmi. There are even timers to remind you to drink or to wait to start drinking. Even inspirational quotes. It's the best!! 2 months and 38 pounds

Agreed 100% with @Introversion. I weighed quite a bit more than you when I had surgery and I lost 45 lbs in 2 months, so I think you are doing fantastic.

I totally agree with your NUT, either Bypass or the Duodenal Switch (DS). I see too many people end up doing revisions to Bypass after doing the sleeve. This was one of the reasons why I changed my mind as well. This surgery is a huge deal and I didn't want to go under the knife more than once. After all the Bypass is the standard of all WLS. The sleeve only gives you restriction, but with the Bypass you get both the restriction and malabsorption (not as much as the DS though). I say do your research speak with ppl that did both.

    Can't Get In Enough Protein

I got popsicle sleeves (narrow, long ziploc type bags) and mixed up Syntrax lemonade flavor to put in them and freeze. Yummy popsicles with Protein. Got me through the first couple of days when it was so hard to get anything down.
