    Pre op

I had surgery three weeks ago and have been hungry since day 1. I get full fast but have no trouble getting everything in. It worries me a little but I'm not eating anything dense yet. Im sure I'll feel restriction then. It's pretty impossible to know which camp you'll fall into post op. You just have to wait and see.

    Buyers remorse hits hard

It is common to do a little experimentation after surgery. That is how we learn. Some people can tolerate anything after surgery while others have problems and can tolerate very little. Weight loss is achieved during the short weight loss phase through meal volume control. The two operative words here are short and volume. So if you want to maximize your weight loss during this phase, you need to adhere to the program guidelines. I slid into the maintenance phase at 7 months.

    Adjusting Your Goals and Expectations

Hi everyone! My goal going into surgery was to get to 170lbs. As of this morning I weighed 180.6 (FINALLY losing again after 2.5 months of sitting at 185...) and I got to thinking, I've got way more than 10lbs left to lose!! It's weird how different my body is at this weight than I thought it was going to be--from looking at pictures of girls my height (5'11) at 170/180 to my conversations with my doctor and those close to me about what my expectations and goals should be, I really thought at this point I'd just be a bit chubby, not able to grab handfuls of tummy like I can now! I'm incredibly proud of how far I've come and that I'm this close to hitting goal... hopefully I'll hit it by my 1 yr surgiversary on 8/1... but I guess I'm just surprised that this weight I never thought I'd ever be able to get to now seems too heavy. This is my first time ever being this weight apart from being a child so I really don't know what to expect anymore or what to adjust my goal to. Has anyone else had to adjust their goal as they've gotten close to it? Or been surprised by their body's changes in relation to what their expectations were?

    - What (physical and/ or non-physical) changes are you mostly looking forward to? I want to enjoy clothes again. I used to love fashion but when I gained weight I just couldn't get into it anymore. I also want to not be the "fat" funny girl. - What are your non-weight (#) related goals? I want to feel strong and be able to run after and with my 3 yo son. I'm 6 weeks post op.

    Can't win today

Your are not a failure. It is probably really bad gas. I had the same issue and it was coming out of both ends at the same time. Try to walk as much as you can, that is what I did. The beginning is always hard. Do not expect to be able to drink much, small sips all day. I only was able to handle chewable vitamins for about 3 months. You should start feeling better in a couple of weeks. That was my major issue, gas and not being able to go to the bathroom. Once you are able to handle more, your bowels will come around . I had my surgery 11.9.16 was a size 22 I am now a size 8. I take miralax a scoop everyday in my morning protein shake. Just think of what you will look like when a couple of months. Try to keep you chin up, this shall pass. I look at myself in the mirror and do not even recognize myself.

    Too Much?

I'd say so. Soft stuff, well chewed seems to slide through a sleeve..guess it does a pouch as well. I was about 5 weeks out and shocked when I ate 8 oz of potato soup. Taught me to measure first

    Too Much?

The nerves in your stomach may not have healed back from surgery, which means you wouldn't have full feeling yet. This is also means you couldn't accidentally hurt your still-healing stomach. I would just move past it and make sure you don't do anything like it again. [emoji4]
