    3 days post-op

I hope it's normal because I was/am the same way. Except the first day because i was nauseous. We can't change overnight.

Around the time of my 6 month surgery anniversary, I was getting sloppy with weighing what I ate. I was down to 316 pounds ( pre surgery weight was 470 in Nov 2016) but I stayed 316 for a few weeks. I had stopped weighing all my food on my digital kitchen scale. I would "eye" all my portions. Finally, I decided to get back to weighing and measuring everything. That did the trick. As soon as I started weighing everything, I noticed that the portions I had been giving myself were a little too big. The number on the scale soon began to go down again and as of today I'm 310 (that's 160 pounds lost in 7 months). So, it looks like I'm going to keep weighing and measuring all my food because I need to. I still have BIG EYES and cannot trust my brain to know what the right portion size is.

Getting and waiting for approval is so nerve wracking and I feel for you. Each insurance co is different. Mine never had me document that many yrs. My PCP had me try pills so that was on record but then just listed I had tried WW, TOPS, etc. I sincerely wish you the best and hope there's no delay for your July date. Hopefully they will let one year slide. Good luck.

Dr. Now makes me angry (and I've only seen him talk for about 5 minutes, total). But I love burgers in butter!!! (pout, pout). Well, actually I've never tried it.. so dunno.... I do grease my pan with butter when cooking my egg. Mmmm. egg with beans... my favorite meal.... Funny story.. went to a mexican restaurant, could have ordered anything off the menu, and what did I get? yup... huevos rancheros! lol. left the rice on the plate, but I finished 2 eggs over medium and about 3-4 ounces of refried beans. (Yes, I can eat a LOT!) Look at me, I have completely forgotten what post I'm responding to... sigh.

What are you eating one month post-op

I am 5 weeks out and started soft veggies this week. But shrimp and catfish have been my go to meals when possible. Other than that yogurt, protein shakes and eggs!

    How to not be hungry

I am one of the LUCKY ones!! I had my RNY July 2, 2013. Lost below my goal weight in 6 months, I weighed 117's. I did gain back 8's which I feel so much better. It is weird how just 8#'s made such a difference. I have maintained my `125# weight for over 3 years. Now for why I am lucky. I still feel no hunger!!! No physcial hunger but I do deal with mind hunger a lot. I had some problems with strictures (like scar tissue) I feel like that was the reason I lost so fast!! But hey I'm not complaining!! I am so glad that I had my WLS!! It is one of the best things I have done for myself and my family. Just remember each person has their own journey and no 2 are alike!! Good Luck
