I don't lose weight rapidly but my body keeps getting slimmer. I'm in a size 12 now and haven't lost a single lb yet I was a size 14 2 weeks ago. lol! Mine is slow and steady but my body is changing more rapidly.

    PreOp Shakes/sucralose

Just go with whatever tastes the best. Pre-op is hard enough, might as well get a shake you like (if there is such a thing!). Don't stock up for post-op though -- there's a good chance your tastes will change.

    Post Surgery weight loss

It took a good week for all the extra fluids to wash out. Then I lost 16lbs the next week. Now I am at the dreaded three week stall.

I can't speak to Mexico specifically, but here are some items I found really helpful when I was sleeves 3 weeks ago: 1. Electric heating pad 2. Sleeveless nightgown 3. My favorite pillow with a colored pillowcase (so the nurses knew it came from home) 4. Brand new pack of underwear (just felt good since I couldn't shower until it was time to leave) 5. Flip-flops for walking around. The socks with grippies just didn't do it for me. 6. Check-list of phone numbers for my boyfriend to call to let everyone know I was ok. I divided it up between "Text" and "Call" and included my closest friends, parents, and work team. When I was in recovery he was getting all the congratulatory/good luck/rooting for you notes on my behalf It was great to fully wake up to. 7. Loose yoga pants for going home. Your tummy may be bloated from all the gas used during the procedure. 8. Biotene. Your mouth gets dry from surgery and you may not be able to get up to brush. The minty biotene covers you for both 9. If you use a CPAP and your hospital allows you to bring your own, DO IT. I had a strong reaction to the anesthesia, so I slept for basically the entire first day. The second day I was able to stay awake and alert for longer stretches, but not enough to read or watch tv or use my laptop. I used my phone a little to check Facebook and Pinterest, but I barely remember.

I am 2 years out and consume in the ballpark of 1900 to 2100 calories per day, although I don't really count, track or measure anything. I consume about 120 grams of protein per day. I do not count carbs or fat...I eat as much of these as I please. Since I sucked at adhering to diets in the past, I've decided I will not engage in the dieting mentality again. Breakfast: 3 cups of coffee with half & half creamer and artificial sweetener Late morning: 1/2 cup cottage cheese and a baked apple Lunch: Roasted chicken drumstick, 1/2 cup side salad, 1/2 cup Spanish rice Mid afternoon: Roasted chicken thigh, two cheese quesadillas, 1/2 cup salad Late afternoon: Quest chocolate chip cookie dough protein bar Dinner: Flatbread pizza with turkey pepperoni and jalapenos Bedtime: Roast beef & cheddar sandwich on 45-calorie multi-grain bread

I have heard this as well. I got pregnant 5 months after surgery. I gave birth completely naturally without any complications or drugs at a birthing center. I didn't even get Tylenol! I got up and walked out with my baby girl 4 hours after giving birth and felt great. Labored in a tub got out and delivered on a bed. They did consider me high risk because I had a very healthy pregnancy. No issues and in range for all test while pregnant. YOU will have to educate THEM. They know nothing about bariatrics. I went prepared with papers and research on what I needed to do and what MY plan was to have a healthy pregnancy. Boost your healthy Snacks and do your homework and you can do it. Don't let anyone tell you you can't have the birth you want because you simply can't eat as much at once. Best of luck to you and congrats!!!!
