    What Pureed foods to eat??

I liked fat free refried beans as a puree. Thinned out with broth at first, but towards the end of the stage I had no problem eating them as is. Also, Eggface Ricotta Bake is a favorite for puree stage. That and more ideas can be found here: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html Good luck!

Oh wanted to add have two friends one had bypass one had the sleeve. Bypass friend has hit goal and maintained for three years. Sleeve friend hit goal but has gained ten but says she's happy there. So that probably didn't help lol. I'm sorry! I think they're both great choices!

Stalls are normal. You don't lose weight every day or ever week. Your body needs to adjust. I had one month I lost zero pounds but 2 dress sizes. If you are eating right you have nothing to worry about the weight will come off.

Several months after surgery I began using protein bars instead of relying on protein shakes. I found Quest protein bars to be an excellent choice. They had high protein, low sugar and high fiber [to help with constipation issues]. They also tasted good and came in a variety of flavors. They came in handy in getting in the daily protein when I was on the go and couldn't drag around my Ninja blender to make my protein shakes. So a few minutes ago I received an email from GNC saying they were giving away free Quest Hero Protein bars for today only. So I thought this might be good information. But then I pulled up a food label on these new protein bars. They contain 12 grams of sugar. That is way too much sugar. Comparing that with the original Quest bars that contain only 1 gram of sugar.

I totally agree with your NUT, either Bypass or the Duodenal Switch (DS). I see too many people end up doing revisions to Bypass after doing the sleeve. This was one of the reasons why I changed my mind as well. This surgery is a huge deal and I didn't want to go under the knife more than once. After all the Bypass is the standard of all WLS. The sleeve only gives you restriction, but with the Bypass you get both the restriction and malabsorption (not as much as the DS though). I say do your research speak with ppl that did both.

    Post Surgery weight loss

It took a good week for all the extra fluids to wash out. Then I lost 16lbs the next week. Now I am at the dreaded three week stall.

    Goal Weight?

I was also told that getting to a healthy bmi was unlikely. But I did reach and am maintaining but I have to diet and exercise to reach and maintain it I can't rely on surgery. Also, my stretched out skin adds extra weight that I won't lose under I have skin surgery....it's flabby wrinkled skin which can't be dieted off but probably is about 5 extra pounds. If you want to reach a healthy bmi go for it and do it for you! The drs just want to keep our expectations realistic and they're thinking what is the expected weight loss from surgery they don't include what we are willing to do with diet and exercise to get the remaining pounds off.

    Heavy Duty Scale

We have a TAYLOR also. We got it because my hubby weighed over 450#'s. This is the same one that the "BIGGEST LOSERS use". We have had our's for over 5 years and have only changed the baterys 1 time. Not to sound weird but did you check the battery? My hubby had went so long without having a scale to weigh on that when he started losing weight he was jumping on them every few minutes. LOL Myself NOT SO MUCH!!! I have always hated to weigh, in fact I have been known to cancel Dr appointments because I knew they would weigh me. Even now I have been at my goa weight for over 3 years and you would think it shouldn't bother me!! Somethings never change. LOL

I've talked with lots of other PCOS sleevers and they all seem to say that the surgery helps with their insulin resistance, helps with their patches of darkening skin, helps to make their periods more regular, helps them get pregnant naturally... but we are stuck with the hair! I'm hoping that once I reach a more normal weight my hormones will even out enough that I'll at least be able to get electrolysis and have it work! I once looked into it and the doctor I saw told me not to bother because the minute my hormones fluctuated I'd be getting it all back again
