    Weight gain

There's no way, physiologically or otherwise, that you can gain 6 pounds of true fat after one or two so-called "cheat days." 6 pounds of fat gain would have required you to consume and store 21,000 excess calories as body fat. It cannot happen in a couple of days. What is happening is water gain due to consumption of too many starches. Eating too many carbohydrates without enough physical activity will cause bloat. Foods with a high carbohydrate level cause the body to store three times as much water compared to protein. This storage is in the form of glycogen, which requires a considerable amount of water. The end result of eating too many carbs without enough activity is water weight gain, at least in susceptible people. In carb-sensitive people, carbohydrate loading (a.k.a. "cheating") causes fluid retention that results in a lot of temporary water weight gain. Recall that the liver utilizes water as it creates and stores glycogen from all the carbs one eats. Thus, water weight gain will show up on the scale as a heavier weight. I do not have cheat foods or cheat days. If I want a slice of pizza or a cheeseburger or taco, I eat it. Since I have no forbidden foods, I have minimal desire to go off the rails. "Cheat days" are a part of the dieter mentality. I sucked at diets; therefore, I am not on a diet. As long as that burger can be worked into my daily calorie budget, it is not a cheat food for me.

    Irony

There is a reason everyone is carb addicted. It is planned. This documentary explains it very well. http://www.abc.net.au/foreign/content/2012/s3547707.htm

The drugs to help with the trauma to your body as well as you being swollen will make you be more weight immediately after surgery. In fact I wouldn't start worrying about looking at a scale and tracking weight loss until you are a good 6 to 8 weeks post surgery. That is when you will really start to see it kick into high gear.

I use http://www.loseit.com/ I hate MFP with the heat of 1000 suns. They allow so much user added content and people suck at math so bad, almost all the information in there inaccurate.Plus they charge a fortune for premium and their UX designers suck. LoseIt has items that have green check marks next to them, those are verified. You can also easily add your own information, and make recipes etc. I use premium and I like all the goal tracking and the badges. I'm still trying to get that 200 pound loss badge. Their forums have a lot of useful information too. When I am home I track on the PC, when I am out I track on my phone It is way to easy to have a busy day, forget to eat and be too low on protein.

Nope. I personally think those are hyped up fads. Skin elasticity is dependent upon genes, time you've carried the extra weight, and how fast/slow you lose it. I don't think there's anything you can do to regain the elasticity.

Let's see if I recall enough about kosher eating. meats and dairy are supposed to be separated from other and pigs have cloved feet but they don't chew cud. Nope not kosher! Bariatric kosher though, as I recall it is Protein first so... Beef, yep. Shrimp, yep. Bacon, yep. Cream cheese, yep. Rosemary, nope. Lime juice, nope. The yeppers have it for the bariatric kosher win!
