    Help with diet

My diet before the preop was to stick within my calorie range for height and weight. She wanted me to focus on portion sizes, protein and making healthy choices but nothing was off limits. I exercised so I could eat more. Bought a fit bit. Lol

    What's Your Favorite Workout?

I have no Latin blood in me (mixed with white/black but I married one though). Even before I met him I was doing Latin dancing. No, not Zumba!!! Haha. I was really good, always dancing with my friend friend from Puerto Rico at the time. Folks were always asking if we were professionals. This is one more thing, after gaining weight, that I highly regret letting go. My husband doesn't know how to do Latin dancing. Tried to get him lessons at one point but he was just silly the whole time. So, I don't anymore. It hurts to move the way I need to. Once surgery happens, I think it should be a goal of mine to get back in it and get my husband to do lessons this time around, without all his silliness. 😜 Until then I just do JUST DANCE on the PlayStation with my girls. Such fun!!! You should try it!

    Miserable

This is the hardest phase .. I remember counting the days when I would be able to introduce he purees but your almost there... you can do this. Are you having jello.. I also drank sugar free peach Snapple.. got sick of water.. This process is very hard. I am post 4 months and can say I am a little better then I was. But those two months are terrible. Have a friend who shared with me that the first year overall is the worst but after the year things improve.. I HOPE SO....

Hello, I am just about 5 months out and I've had a few stalls along the way..... they happen. But for the last couple of months I have been steadily losing weight. What is working for me: Keeping my carbs under 35 grams a day. Making sure I get 100 grams of protein a day. Drinking at least 80 ounces of fluids a day. My calories are between 800-900 daily. Doing those things, I generally lose between 3-4 pounds a week. I track everything with myfitnesspal, it helps me a lot. I am also not exercising at all, unfortunately. I have 2 incisional hernias (one quite large) that give me a lot of pain. Also dealing with constant abdominal pain and constipation. I can hardly wait to lose a little more weight and have my hernia surgery, because I can't wait to be able to exercise. Hope that helps.

The hospital I'm at is super restrictive so what I'm gonna do is bring two bags: first, a duffle bag full of condoms, sex toys, and whiskey shot packets so when they look in the second bag, stuff I actually want to bring, they'll be like.. well this isn't half as bad. I think it would satisfy the intake nurses of their desire to have power over someone to be able to tell me no to the duffle bag, but not fight with me afterwards about the phone, tablet, pillow, anti-fart strips, etc.

Surgery tomorrow at 10am and uummmm...

Thank you everyone!! I'm finally post-op. Wasn't as bad as I imagined at all. I'm feeling pretty okay. Anesthesia has had he sleepy and groggy most of the day. In terms of pain, incision pain in minimal. Just feels like I did lots of push ups. Oh boy, but that has pain is a killer. It really hurts. Walking is the only solution. I've walked every chance I got and I'm going to continue to do that. Also, peeing every 10 minutes! Lol So happy I did this and I'm excited to start this new journey of my like. Thank you all for your kind words, well wishes and encouragement. [emoji173]
