Your nervousness is completely normal. You'll be fine, I promise! Let your surgical team know about your anxiety, especially your anesthesiologist. They should be able to give you something to help you relax (I called it "happy juice" lol). That's what they're there for, to help make this as comfortable as possible for you! And when you wake up, you won't feel a thing. You'll feel like you've woken up from a nice nap. Think about why you're having the procedure and how much better you'll feel once you have no more heartburn! AND you'll lose more weight! So you'll feel better overall! I understand...we all do. I didn't sleep a wink the night before, and I was his first surgery that morning. Your surgical team does this all the time and can tell when patients are anxious. Mine certainly did. It will be over before you know it. [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    One month post op

Yes it works! It didn't work the same day but by the next morning I didn't have a problem but i noticed when I didn't drink it everyday I started back getting constipated. When I get home I will tell you what my Dr prescribed.

Changing your relationship with food is the only way to be successful in this journey long term. If the sweets are still an issue for you (i.e., the temptation is too difficult to overcome), then you need to talk to a professional about it. The only way you are going to be successful is to do what you need to do regardless of what is around you or what other people are eating. Good luck!

    Feel like sabotaging today

Stalls are really common during this journey. This won't be the last one. If you cave every time you have a stall, you won't ever be successful long term. So my advice is to just keep to your plan, meet your protein and water goals, and stay away from the carbs. Aside from all of that, at 8 weeks post-op, eating a bagel could be dangerous. Please don't do it.

    Having Thoughts and Second Thoughts

I asked myself these same questions... but then I remembered all the times I have stuck with a diet program for months and lost 40-60 lbs each time. After a certain amount of time I would get so tired of eating foods that I do not like and start back with the bad eating habits and then gain back all the weight I lost, plus some. I am now one week post op and I'm hoping that I will stick this for life...but if I don't, I am also hoping that my stomach is so small that there will be uncomfortable consequences if I cheat and that will deter me. I realize that I have to eat healthy most of the time but if I eat a slice of pizza occasionally or one cookie, then it's not going to make me gain weight back. I think now with my new stomach it will be easier for me to eat moderately and only occasionally treat myself.
