Why do people still believe in waist trainers? They do not help in any way, there are numerous articles and hard research about this. All it is is a corset to give you a slimmer waist WHILE wearing it. Once it's off, your shape goes back to normal and you will have a weakened core, not strengthened one. Also, your shape depends a lot of your genetics (and age) - outside of diet/exercise and/or plastic surgery, there's really little you can do about it. (don't mean to be a downer, just keeping it real).

    Pre-OP diet other options

Unjury makes a really good protein powder. It's a little pricey but good. My only suggestion is not to stock up on any one product and/or flavor. Things may not taste as good for a while after surgery. I came to loathe some of the flavors I had. It passed in time, but for a week or two I had to choke them down. You may want to add a fiber supplement to your drinks like Benefiber. That might help with the bathroom issues.

My surgery was last Thurs and I definitely over packed. The clothes I wore there was what I wore home. I used my chapstick. Hospital had toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, etc) but I brought my own as well. I brought a robe but never used it. I just doubled up in the hospital gown. My goods never showed while walking the halls. Also, never used my slippers. The hospital socks had a lot of traction and were helpful for me when walking. And phone charger of course

Is your surgery April 12th? Mine is April 13th. Wish I could get some chicken and broccoli in for dinner but he's strictly liquids. My dr also requires 16oz of Gatorade to be finished 3 he's prior to surgery and day before. My surgery is at Memorial in Savannah, GA. I'm excited and nervous. Good luck to you and hope you have a speedy recovery.

I used my charger, chapstick and robe - my unit was an ice box. I didn't use anything else. My hospital provided toothbrush and toothpaste and basic cleansing items.

-sigh- I live in Taiwan and the national health insurance will cover part of it but only if I have had a documented weight loss attempt with the hospital for six months and failed to lose weight. So I just went to my first appointment for that two days ago. And I should be finished in June. And then I have two weeks off from work for our summer vacation in august or maybe July. So I'll do the surgery then. Maybe take a week off before so I have theee weeks to do it and heal. The weight loss counseling is a joke. They just take my vitals and tell me how much weight to lose by next time. The nutritionist doesn't speak English and all her suggestions are about Taiwanese food which is gross and i don't eat. She barely spoke English. From what I understood she lectured me on drinking sweet bubble tea which I don't drink and told me to eat half a banana....at some point? So yeah. Six more months of that bs. I'm going to need some strong recomendations for post surgery nutrition counseling because I'm not getting it from my hospital.
