    EGD and Psych Eval

I sure hope so. I am still scared, but I feel a little better knowing I don't need to get hernia repaired first and then go back for sleeve. I was up at my weigh in, which was a bummer.

Only if you want it that way, otherwise fight it! You said you lost more weight without the surgery, so if you can do it with a normal stomach, you can do it with a sleeve, even if it has stretched a bit. Keep positive!

Have I botched my surgery [emoji22]

You aren't a horrible WLS patient; you are a human being who is hitting a glitch. Get back on the food plan recommended by your Nut/Surgeon and follow it! If you have to, go back and do several days to a week of just protein shakes, like immediately following surgery. There is no magic to WLS- you have still have to do the hard work of sticking to a food plan, of going against the eating habits you spent a lifetime learning and reinforcing. However, this time you have your sleeve to help you. You might have lost weight on your own before having the surgery, but were you able to keep it off? It's one thing to fluctuate by a couple of pounds... but is your weight continuing to climb, endlessly? Have you gained back all you lost, and more, which is what most of us experienced when trying to lose weight pre-surgery? You can do this... just start following the meal plans to a T; weigh/measure/record what you eat; stick to high protein, low/no carbs, plenty of water; small bites, chew chew chew. You can do this!

Had a couple of hours before getting my kids from spring break camp. Took a nice long walk downtown on the shoreline. Great overcast and somewhat cool day. Enjoyed every bit of it. Now, my left knee and feet aren't taking it too kindly though.

    Lentil soup with tomato

Tomatoes are acidic and may be hard on the healing stomach. Plus if it has the peeling on and had seeds in it, those are hard to digest as well.

    Terrified of gaining

I can ditto every word Gail said!! I can understand being terrified of weight gain but it may happen, as it did for me, and I've managed to not go crazy and gain everything back. I lost 65 lbs in a year, and gained 15 back after putting my dog to sleep. I didn't go off the deep end, just made bad choices because I didn't care about anything but my grief. Now I'm back on track and losing again. I'd like to be back where I was at my one year follow up appointment, at my two year in June. Then maybe lose the last ten. No matter what, this surgery was a success for me, and I'm exactly where I need to be. I learned a LOT about myself through all this, especially about why I always turn to food, and am continuing to learn.

    ONEDERLAND!!!!

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well this morning. I am soooo excited - I hit onderland today!! I have been waiting for this moment and I'm so glad that I made the decision to have surgery. Just wish I would have done it sooner! I included a pic of when I started, and a current pic as well. Only 8 more pounds to go until I am 100 pounds down. Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend.

Thanks, Hikerdog! I appreciate your input. I think I am going to make a list of all the reasons I need to have the surgery. It seems like this is more of a psychological thing for me than anything else. It truly defies logic. Thank you!
