    Best Nutritious Eating Plan

Other than my protein shakes yogurt tuna pouches and a couple of other things. I try to eat less processed foods. Basically chicken fish turkey from meat section fresh or frozen fruits and veggies and eggs. Those other things are almond milk, broccoli tots, sf pudding. I don't eat a lot of these.

    Weight Loss questions

I had the lapband in 2008 when I was 380 pounds at my consultation. I was able to get down to 280 but had many complications and gained all my weight back and had to get it removed in 2012. I continued in a downward (or upward I should say) Spiral with my health and weight. I rapidly gained weight and in October of 2015 I decided I needed to make a change and fast when I was put in the hospital for breathing problems and they almost wouldn't do a catscan because I was over the weight limit when I told them I was 480 pounds (which is what I thought I was). I was so overweight doctors were having trouble treating me. I ended up having to go on oxygen 24/7 because I was so overweight it was pressing against my lungs and restricting my breathing. I called and made an appointment at the bariatric surgeon the day I got out of the hospital. When I went for the consultation it turns out I actually weighed 540 pounds. I went through 6 months of preop diet and was able to lose 60 pounds. The day of surgery on May 29, 2016 I weighed 480 pounds. Today, March 16, 2017, I weight 303.8 pounds. I got my life back. Before I could hardly walk the length of a room and now I walk 2 miles almost every day. I had a lot of complications after surgery but I would do this surgery again in a heartbeat even with all I went through. I had the sleeve surgery because I did not want the malabsorbtion or dumping syndrome. Good luck to you and if you have any other questions you can ask!

Hi All, I just got sleeved on Monday along with a hiatal hernia repair. I'm in much less pain than I thought I would be so I'm very hopeful this recovery will be fast! I lost 19lbs on my two week low carb pre op diet so I plan to continue that way of eating once I'm on solids again. I started at 367, was 348 on surgery day and want to get down to less than 20% body fat, whatever that scale number will be. Any tips on what I should start to do to be active when the time comes? I was thinking just walking to start with but your suggestions are welcome! Thanks [emoji4]

If you eat within defined parameters (calories, carbs, protein) and meet your water goals, you should not gain weight. In fact, you should continue to lose weight. The surgery is not a magic pill. Now is the time for the tough mental work. Eat what you should, and don't eat what you shouldn't. That's all you have to do. Good luck!

You should really contact your team about this and ask their advice. The reality is you can eat whatever you want to but do you really want to take the risk?

    Everything tastes different

It's frustrating isn't it! Lol it actually has made me a fantastic cook though. I can't stand frozen boxed pre made food anymore so I just make everything from scratch and now it taste fine. Processed food helped get us to the mess we had become so steer clear of that baby.

I am 61 and had my revision surgery on 12/9/2016. At this point, I am down 33 pounds, with weight loss the first 3-4 weeks very slow, but then picked up momentum. Like Travelher, I have found my pouch is bigger than those who have not had a revision, so I measure and watch what I eat. There has been some emotional adjustments I was not aware of until I joined this forum (I love this forum) but it absolutely has ben worth it! At my age, excess skin is already a "situation" but my health is so much better. I recommend you do it as I would do it again. since we are the same age, I would be happy to be your "buddy"! Gail
