    I can't believe that I'm down 50 pounds since surgery on 11/22/16. I'm down 62 since 8/3/16. Best decision ever! I feel so much better and I can't wait until I can see the difference in my body. However, my clothes do feel bigger and I can comfortably sleep on my stomach lol so wins there! I can't wait to continue this journey. Question: Does/has anyone experienced incision pain more than 3 months after surgery? Just curious as I joined a boot camp and things such as burpees cause pain in my incision site. Thanks!     Back Pain?

    My back was killing me for the first 5mths post op. I started seeing a chiropractor and he said that it had to do with the drastic change in body shape. Basically, your back had to reshape and conform to "a new you". Because you weren't carrying as much weight. It does get better. I was getting adjustments for 6 mths after my surgery. I am almost one year out and it's alot better. Good luck and congratulations and the weight loss.

    Not losing much

    Bananas also have a lot of sugar. If you don't get your protein in, your going to burn muscle instead of fat. If I don't get all my water in I get terribly constipated. High protein, low sugar and carbs, and 64 ounces of water. I promise if you follow that you will start dropping weight in a few days, but no cheating! Just advice based on my own trial and errors as you have to test the waters and get to know your body all over again! Also stay away from bread- there's nothing in there good for you anymore, you don't need it, and it contains too many carbs. It makes me put on a couple pounds even if I have just a few bites because it throws my body out of weight loss mode! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Did your doctor not give you much guidance in what you should be eating? If you aren't hitting protein & water goals your focus should change to that immediately. We were told to get 60g of protein in minimum a day. The target should be between 60-80g of protein, keep carbs low, and don't stress about calories at this point. In addition try your best to get 64oz of water in. At 3 weeks out most people are in the pureed stage. Things like cottage cheese (blend a small portion of fruit up to add to the flavor) and Greek yogurts are good to have in your diet. The Oikos triple zero yogurts are 15g of protein in a serving. Cottage cheese is typically at least 10g in 5oz. Compare that to the 1-2g of protein you're getting from an entire banana. If you're struggling with water try mixing things up. Do Powerade Zero, Propel waters, Crystal Light, etc. I would mix a small amount of diet cranberry juice (the 5 calorie kind) in with my Crystal Light drinks to give them a bit more flavor. I keep a 32oz Powerade bottle as my measuring cup so to speak. I fill that up with my Crystal Light and as long as I get two of those down a day I know I'm hitting my water goals (your protein drinks do count towards water intake as well). I honestly think if you change those things up you'll see things kick into gear more.

    I'm got lose more weight since my surgery last January 9 and I'm felt FABULOUS but I have no problems and I will straighten to hospital for problems surgery again but I got lose more weight at 313 I'm praying I will lose more weight im been quickly recovery for one weeks.. but no matter I will lose more pounds on my weight journey I'm hopeful so!!

    Wow things are moving fast

    I have Kaiser Insurance and I just started last week the Options class I am on week 2 today I already had my labs done and my EKG last week and today I scheduled my appointment for my psych evaluation and my health appraisal I am going to that before my class tonight I feel good about the Psych Evaluation I have no issues really that I know off I am not scared or anything. I think it will go good.

    Hello everyone, I just wanted to share something with you all that will hopefully be helpful to those who haven't had surgery yet, or to those who are post op and need to be encouraged to get all of their liquids in each day (64 ounces or more per day). I made a post on here several days ago, I was concerned about dizzy spells that I was having. I wound up going to the doctor this past Thursday because of the dizziness. My blood pressure was fairly low (for me anyway)-- 96/70. I am 13 weeks post op and my blood pressure is usually up around 125/75. I remember my surgeon and nutritionist stressing from the very beginning how important it was to get in your liquids everyday. So I had been making a point to do that, and since the very beginning, I had no trouble getting in about 76 ounces a day. However, within the last couple of weeks there were a few days I had unintentionally slacked off some. I was finding that food and drink were filling me up more than usual, and by 7 p.m. each night, I could literally not drink any more liquids. So, after my doctor's appointment Thursday, things started going downhill. I went out grocery shopping Friday and when I got home, I was incredibly fatigued, I have never felt so rotten. It was like a ten ton truck had run me over. On top of that, I was dizzy, my blood pressure was low and I had a horrible headache. ALL of these problems continued through the weekend. I called my doctor's office this morning and they said to go to the ER. I just got home from the ER. They did an EKG, scan, bloodwork and gave me IV fluids. I found out that I have a urinary tract infection and that I was mildly dehydrated. Instructions are antibiotics for the infection and to drink more fluids. I want to say that I only got "off program" with my liquids for a few days. You just can't do that. It is SO IMPORTANT to get your fluids! Luckily, my case was mild dehydration and a UTI, which is no fun. But others have become dehydrated to the point where it can cause even worse problems and it can land you in the hospital for days if you don't stay on top of it! Sip, sip, sip! Don't forget to drink!
