I know what both of you mean! I have felt and done the same thing! I wouldn't even put a picture on my LinkedIn or other SM profiles. I look forward to the before and after pics and the profile pics!

    Blood thinner shots

I did. 10 days...you honestly just suck it up and pinch the skin and get it in there. Seriously, just thinking of the possibility of blood clots was enough to ensure compliance.

    Curious

It really does vary between each individual. I weighed more after surgery than I did the morning of simply because of all the fluids I had pumped in me going through recovery. Weight starting 2 week pre-op diet: 336 Day of surgery: 318 Current (3 weeks post op): 296

    Tanning post op

I wouldnt see why not, but definitely check with your surgeon first and I would be interested in knowing whats he says. I have my surgery next week but am also looking forward to starting to tan in a month or so too

I am feeling the same here...... I keep reminding myself just like you that my weight doesn't offer me much of a future. At this point, I am starting to feel like my weight has consumed my life and to me, this is no living life. I constantly remind myself I want to run and play with my kids and enjoy their life with them and not just watch them enjoy life. This is what is keeping me off the fence and the reminder the pros out weight the cons for me. I wish you the best of luck!

    Depression & VSG

I started counseling before surgery and continue to go see a therapist twice a week. What I am finding is that this process is very hard and when I slip up, I feel an even deeper sense of inadequacy. Before surgery I used alcohol and food to help me deal with my feelings and now that those are physically not an option, I feel like I lost 2 of my best friends. My advice would be to be honest with yourself and your own feelings. It makes it easier to confront and deal with those issues when they come up. I don't feel like the surgery increase my depression. I feel like it revealed to me how unhealthy my coping strategy was, and that was probably exactly the revelation that I needed.
