hi all, I am moving onto soft foods and then regular foods. I had a bit of pain for about 5 minutes today after eating something too fast. Now I am really anxious about anything more than puree and hurting my pouch. Did anyone have anxiety about moving to the next step in your diet? surgery date 1/17/17

I'm looking forward to a new me

@Newme17 Bear in mind, this is not your run of the mill acid reflux. I am in treatment from my doctor. It's barely controlled with two 40 mg PPIs a day. Taking PPIs long term is not good. There are ppl on this forum that had to revise to Gastric Bypass due to very severe acid reflux that is as a result of the sleeve...it's a high pressure system. This is a reality. Hearing both ends is important. All the best.

Hi not sure how much of a help I'll be but I would double check with the hospital you're planning on going through & your insurance. I already attended my seminar back in October but was disappointed that I did my first required support group with a different hospital and when I called in to the hospital where my surgeon is affiliated with I was told it didn't count so now I have to go on the 15th to the right location. I'm not going to say it was for nothing; even though that's how I felt at first but I received some really great info there. But they didn't make the info on the paper clear it just said "attend a support group near year & contact them with the date & location" that told me that I could attend any but that's not what they meant. So just double check to make sure your seminar counts so you don't have to repeat it again.

I'm with Kaiser Panorama City. I had my first Options class today. They told me that after the 6th Options class they would start ordering the required tests - labs, EKG, chest x-ray, etc. As far as weigh in, everyone weighed in prior to the start of class Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Newbie

I was 27 when I had my tonsillectomy, I thought I was gonna die, lol. I deal well with pain, no pain meds with any of my csections, but I took my meds every 4 hours when I had my tonsillectomy, lol... I know I will feel so much better, my feet hurt all the time now... Need some advice

It will work. It should work. And 1492 is very doable. I'm imagining your stats. I put in my stats as if I'm at my goal weight and my goal to gain muscle, which I plan to still do (weight train) 3 times a week post-op. Crazy big numbers right? I know, but it's pretty much right on. I'm weight training now and I'm ravenously hungry all day...I'm eating more, but I'm losing inches. The more you move the more you need to fuel. But if you're not in to exercise, it's going to boil down to the right foods and enough of them. You can do it hon. Many blessings to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had my surgery 10/12. I am scared to death of slipping back into my old ways, and all of this was for not. Now that I feel better, it is so hard not to go back to my normal life. Everyone thinks this is an easy way out, it is a far cry from it. I am so confused on what is the right way of doing things. I worry constantly if I eat this or that, is it the beginning to failure? I work two jobs and am often time exhausted between that and keeping up with my family. How do I balance all of this and exercise into the equation? How do I cook for them knowing that I can't eat that meal that I just made? For right know these are the things that I struggle with the most. How do all of you all deal with it?
