    Anemia

I had a low iron level before surgery, and now at 15 1/2 weeks post op I'm anemic. It's hard to go through each day feeling so damn tired and sluggish, but keep taking your iron supplements and try to make food choices rich in minerals. Vitamin C is supposed to help the body better absorb iron, so you may want to ask the doctor about combining the two. I take a prescription supplement called FeRiva, which is Iron, Biotin, Vitamin C, and Folic acid in one, and time released. Maybe something like that could help you. Anyway, best of luck with everything - you can get through this! Oh, and on another note...are those your little girls in the picture? They are sooo GORGEOUS!!!!

    Frustrated and a little embarrassed

Judys - You know in your heart that you are following the rules so you should lose soon. If not, consider talking to your nutritionist and your surgeon again about increasing your metabolism and testing to determine if there is something else interfering. Above all, remember, we are on a marathon not a sprint. Next year at this time...I bet you will be worrying about what to do with all the clothes that are way too big. Take good care.

    Frustrated and a little embarrassed

Hey Judy, don't get discouraged. I lose slowly too, I've lost 46lbs and I'm 4 months out, but I look at it this way, Maybe we won't have as much loose skin if we lose slowly. As Long as we are exercising regularly, eating our dense proteins first, and doing what we are suppose to we are ahead of the game. Would you have lost the 40 lbs without the sleeve? I know I wouldn't have lost any weight by myself, 'cause I tried everything known to man and nothing worked. Good luck keep plugging away!

Wishing you great success. I am 4+ Years out and just bought a size 2 pair of jeans. No longer do I take a bite past full. The lapband is the tool I needed. Apparently this is my first full button and it works. Blessings on your surgery and Keep the Faith! God is good all the Time! Keep us posted on your success. It will happen in its own time... not exactly like anyone else. But it will be GOOD!

    Continuous improvement

Hi Karen, I've always thought your comments & blogs were good, & inspirational. Which is one of the main reasons I took special interest in what you have to say. The other, I too am from the Philadelphia area and periodically liked to check up on other Philadelphians. Glad to hear all went & still continue to good well for you. Best wishes on your continued success.

    Continuous improvement

I find some of the supports groups on FB are kinder and more supportive. I'll never understand why some people just need to be so mean spirited. Thanks for the words of wisdom
