    Keeping it real

Very well put. When I went to my surgeon's office the first time they gave me and every WLS person a huge book that has everything from the first visit to after the surgery. Why can't other doctors do this. Also listed was everyone's phone number in the office with their title. Program your doctor's number in your phones, everyone.

Awesome post .... Change is a wonderful thing... and life is so short and precious to waste on eating crap . Wish I could get my husband to make me a garden but his idea of a small garden is 5 acres.. lol

    @$%&

So.......why are you still there? That is a question my doctor asked me when I first confided in him about verbal and emotional abuse in a previous relationship. He encouraged me to do whatever I needed to do to find a place of mental, emotional and physical safety. This same ex would chide me about my weight and then bring home donuts. Not just any donut - hot Crispy Crème Donuts..... My life was full of mixed messages. No one needs to live with constant confrontation. Sounds like your kids would benefit from a calmer environment, too. Hopefully you can find a resolution shortly. As for work, it's only eight hours, it's only eight hours, it's only eight hours...........

I went to my surgeon on Tues and was told that my surgery would take two hours. He would test for leaks while I am in surgery and that way I will not have to be tested the day after. I should be in my room, if one is available, an hour or so after I wake up in recovery room. My doctor has done tons of these surgeries and I am hoping everything goes well.

    4 months post – op & 65 lbs down

Mom, I'm so like you, I hate to spend $$ on clothes when I know that in a month or two they won't fit anymore. My sis gave me some of her old clothes that were too big for her(she lost a ton of weight and lives at the gym!), but I need jeans and pants that don't fall down. I have been going to the thrift stores, but will take your tip and try ebay. Good luck and continued success!!

    The problem with cheat days....

I have the same problem, Terry. I have one cheat day a month where I eat whatever I want and the next two days after are always hard. It's like it wakes up my hunger with a vengeance.

Thanks kimbernada for the info. I too hope my surgery is boring and "by the numbers". I haven't worn jeans for years now. I like the "George" brand of slacks they sell at Wal-Mart. I have to dress professional at work, except for casual Fridays, but I still wear the slacks. Fortunately, I still have lots of my old shirts and jeans from when I was in my 250 - 270 range. It's only been in the past 3 years that I've gained the extra hundred pounds. I plan on taking my laptop and a boat load of "The Big Bang Theory" episodes as part of my hospital kit, along with a few of the other things on the "hospital list" I found on the forum. I am looking forward to having the "problem" of having to buy smaller clothes every few months.
