Toss the box? A NSV with a problem

Dresses on men are kind of frowned upon in most areas of Georgia so unfortunately I will have to stick with pants .... but good advice for the ladies

Toss the box? A NSV with a problem

I tossed mine ~ right over the banistger. I made a thing of it. I had my family sit on the bed and I said does this go or stay. GO! they would say and I woul throw it over the banister and in my head it was gone forever. I gave all the bags and shoes to a lady at work and she was grateful. It's gone ! Now I have 3 things to wear, And when you do need clothing buy dresses you can put belts on and they last alot longer than pants!

    It's contagious!

Good for her---and how wonderful to have your best friend/sister as a support and cheerleader! You could ask on VST if anyone has used a doctor in her area as a recommendation and place to start....

    It's contagious!

This is how it happened with me and and my husband. I told him I was doing it, and asked for his help in encouraging me to stay on plan. What resonated with him was I said I had no idea how long I would live, but I intended to spend that time as a thin person, able to do things I wanted to before I died. He realized he wanted the same thing. I can NOT tell you how beneficial it has been to have a buddy go through it at the same time. We did our pre-op together, we had surgery the same day, and now we're recovering together. We can support each other, we can share experiences, and we can take care of each other. I don't know if your sister lives close by, but it would be so good for both of you to be able to help each other through this, even if she lives far away.

Toss the box? A NSV with a problem

TOSS THE BOX!!! I had the same problem. It is still hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that I have gotten rid of clothes that were too big that used to be my 'I'll get into those someday" clothes. I am almost through all of those and am fixing to be in uncharted waters, or at least I haven't been in them in years. You won't need them again. Ever. Get rid of them and make some room for the new stuff that will be finding it's way in!

#5 #6 & #8 should all be happening for you already!! Clearly you are a new person already, don't doubt that, which leads me to #5 & #6. I have been on the weight loss journey my entire adult life (I'm less then a month away from turning 49), only the last 3 years of which were Lapband related. Anyway I have come to some very important realizations along the way. No one will be more confident when at goal weight unless they find things to build their confidence along the way. I don't even know you but I can tell you that you should be confident for the reason you have hopes & dreams for your future (weight related or not). Even better you had the courage to come here & post them. Way to go, that is awesome & inspiring!!!! Furthermore no one smiles like you are in your profile picture unless they believe in themselves....see confidence!! Now get away from your laptop & live the life you were meant to lol :)

    This is so hard!!

Congratulations on getting the band and starting a new journey. Are you getting enough protein in at every meal? Protein makes you full longer. I am far from perfect and never thought of eating anything not on my post op list because I was afraid I would do damage. Today is a new day, forget yesterday. Maybe Monday call your dietitian and ask for help.
