port revision and Six Flags Death

I had not heard about the Six Flags lady. I dont know how large she was or any details. But I do know the last time I went to an amusement park I went on a roller coaster and SQUEEZED into it. Well guess what it popped loose while riding. Luckily there was another safety measure that kept my bar from coming completely loose. It was a terrifying experience.

    This protein is horrible

I guess I was lucky at my 1st try with tasting protein shakes. I got a 4 pack of EAS carb control chocolate at Walmart - and if you like chocolate, they are pretty good, just a little thinner than I like. So I tossed in a scoop of some powdered chocolate protein I already had and made it a little thicker and chocolatier (is chocolatier a word? :-P) Anyway, later on I tried Premier Protein chocolate shakes - I had to buy a 12 pack to test them out - and they are even better than EAS, but I still throw in a scoop of the powdered chocolate protein - I just like the thicker feeling. I tried not to go too overboard with my purchasing and just stuck with the basics. I had previously counted on the reduced food bills as part of recovering the cost of surgery over the next 3 to 5 years. Try not to get too caught up in the excitement of trying new flavors of protein shakes or you may wind up with a bunch of product that you don't eat, wasted money, and get discouraged. You'll only be on the shakes for a short time before your doctor is going to want you to get your nutrition from solid food.

    Owwww.....that hurts ....kinda.

Prior to getting sleeved my only experience with surgery was having my festering rotten gangrene gallbladder removed. Because of the gangrene the surgery was complicated. For gallbladder surgery I couldn't even walk until day three... I was in the hospital for several days and I want to say they didn't even give me food until day four. When I woke up from VSG surgery I was like: "Seriously? This is all???" I got up and started walking right away and felt like I could have left the hospital on the first day. I didn't even feel pain... just.. "discomfort". Definitely NOT what I was expecting! I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but it never did... Things just got better and better. My VSG surgery recovery was a cake walk. Glad yours is too!

    My First VS Blog!

That is exciting that your surgery date is set. My six month wait is up and I find out my surgery date next Friday. I heard here at my hospital they are booking six weeks out. I am tired of waiting and ready for this next step. I look forward to hearing how your experience goes. Keep posting.

To The Men: I Get It Now; a.k.a. Damn, Girl

Lmao loved your post and god bless!!!! I have been fortunate to always be healthy in that dept even as fatty fat! Maybe because i have a lover and am not single. But my performance has shot up a hundred percent as my confidence. No Im not super toned working on that goal, but every time Im with him I know in my head Im smaller than I was last time and it does something to your head. Its almost empowering! Im getting older and thought things were supposed to slow down, but I feel my drive is worse then when I was in my 20s which is awesome for me. I agree with the others if your in a small town invest in some good toys, or go to clubs in a town where noone knows who you are and get your freak on! Have fun on your quest be careful and enjoy!!!

    still waiting...carb cravings are huge

I am familiar with PCOS. It is true that there are more challenges with weight loss, but not for all women. It's also true that women, band or no band, are able to lose weight with diet and lifestyle change, WITH PCOS. I'm not trying to minimize how difficult it is for YOU. But it can be very easy to fall into old behaviors, while totally blaming it on a health issue. Your original post said that you were hungry all the time, and finding food on every corner. I believe that some of the posters were responding to that. PCOS doesn't force anyone to make poor food choices. Even pregnant women choose yogurt over a Big Mac & fries. Again, I'm not saying that's what YOU were eating at every food venue on every corner. But you were eating enough to gain a substantial amount of weight, which typically equates to too much food, and poor choices. If a good portion of your issues are in fact PCOS, then maybe posting in an online PCOS forum is a better option.
