Yep, you are!!! Lol Just a note of encouragement - I am three + years out. 100 lbs lighter and love every minute of it! My advice - try not to think about the 85% part gone and focus on the 15% left. You will be very happy you did it, I predict. At least I was! Never looked back and love it!

I wish I had it done sooner. I haven't felt this good in a long time. I don't miss large quantities of food nearly as much as I thought I would and I certainly don't miss the extra weight. It just feels GOOD! You'll see. Congrats on beginning your journey. Blessings.

I'm here to tell you, I don't miss that unnecessary 80% of my stomach in the slightest!!! Good riddance!

    Are You a Half-Fast Loser?

PS--three pounds a week to me would be uber-fast! I guess it's all about perspective. It always fascinates me how people can have such similar weights, energy intake and output, and have such wildly different speeds of weight loss. As the poem that my dear grandmother loved (Desidirata) says: "Do not compare yourself to others, for there will always be greater or lesser people (weight loss), and you will become bitter or vain." This is easier said than done, but I work very hard to do it and count my blessings! I'm down more than 60 lbs (including pre-op) that I'm sure I wouldn't have been if it had not been for this journey.

    Are You a Half-Fast Loser?

Those of us who are fast losers post our success for several reasons, including: * Disbelief of our own good fortune - helps to say it and write it * Sincere desire to encourage others I had no expectations that the "journey" would be so quick and easy for me. At a lower than usual BMI of 40, I expected it to actually go slower than for others. I do have a very fast metabolism, which causes shame rather than joy, because it means I had to work hard to get that big. And I did not do anything special, like work out (at all), or live on Unjury ( I can eat more than most and do!) to lose so rapidly. It just happened. We are in total disbelief of our good fortune and we just need to share it, not for praise and recognition, but to show others that it doesn't have to be an uphill battle for every one of us. So please tolerate us sharing our joy and success!! We share in yours, regardless of the pace!

    Can you hear it...........

You sound like me except I am down around 74-79 pounds depending on the day. i know if I was 100% I would be down more. I am very happy, it's not a weight gain like the many many years in the past. For dinner tonight I am having my 1oz of pasta with my chicken and salad. I know I can not do without everything. Last night I had a wonderful salad and salmon but ate a big ass warm crunchie roll, the insides dug out. Be happy with what you have done, lost weight!!

    Approval.....this is really happening

So happy for You !!! I am only 8 weeks out, so I can still remember the day I got my approval and surgery date. After all the hoop jumping for insurance it feels like you have finally won the lottery or something. LOL. And don't expect the buyers remorse. I can honestly say I have Not had the first regret about having my surgery. Keep a positive outlook. Your new life of feeling better and feeling better about yourself is just beginning. Yay for You !!!

Don't feel bad, I'm 6 days post-op and I decided to walk to the end of the driveway. It took 15 minutes roundtrip since I'm walking so slow. I hurt so bad had trouble getting back in the house (I didn't go alone). I'm exhausted, your body lets you know when it's ready. It's probably going to take 2 weeks. Don't beat yourself up its a lesson learned! Your partner in crime:)

None taken! I knew it was meant to be funny :-) Just felt the need to explain. It's all good - we'll all take skinny whenever we can get it!

    Are You a Half-Fast Loser?

I say I am slow by forum standards, but according to doc and nut I am where I need to be. I work out 5/6 days a week some days I eat 40 carbs some days I eat 80. Some days my calories are less than 800 somedays they are near 1000. I think what people need to remember is our journeys are all individual. I am pleased with MY progress and that is all that matters. Of course the post with someone saying they loss 50lb in 3 months gets attention because pre sleevers hope that will be them and post sleevers are wishing that was them. It just creates a vicious cycle of disappoint. I am not saying that person should not post their success , but people should be realistic and need to understand this process is different for us all. I stopped hanging around the boards because other people's whining about their slow weight loss had me doubting myself!
