    Postop: Week 2

Don't be discouraged! 19 lbs is awesome!! My first couple days of soft food I made tuna salad (tuna, eggs, a little light mayo, and a small piece of pickle) I blended in my ninja until it was about baby food consistency. I also eat Greek yogurt for breakfast. Today I ate an egg (well, most of it anyway) that was mushy/runny. Tonight I'll try to make chicken salad but I plan on leaving it just a little chunkier than my puréed tuna- just so I can slowly get used to a thicker consistency- baby steps. I hope this helps you!

Thanks I needed this as well I'm down 15lbs since my surgery on the 12th and I am starting to tapper off. I was kinda down this morning but I know it is a process and once I get back into the gym it's going to start coming off fast. In total I'm down 34 lbs from the start and I feel and look fantastic and amazing..... I know this is my journey and A NEW chapter in my life.

6 weeks post-op. Who said this was easy?

I was just thinking today, as I was taking the stairs at work, how one might think I took the easy way out. I have thought that at times myself. But after looking at my lifestyle change over the last 6+ weeks, it hasn't even been close to easy. I have worked very hard to make the right food choices, measuring and journaling every bite of food that goes into my mouth, counting every gram of protein that I consume, getting in the amount of required liquids and making sure I exercise every day. It's definitely a learning process and I am working very hard at it!

    Postop: Week 2

I needed to read your post. I am also at 2 weeks post op and feeling discouraged. Not so much by the weight loss ( lost 19 pounds so far) but I just feel like I am not losing it fast enough and I cant eat anything except for soup and yogurt. Tried scrambled eggs yesterday and it just didnt happen for me. What are you eating.

I too have seen some look older. I myself feel as though I look younger. But in addition to looking older, I have also noticed some who look sickly. This can also be mistaken for looking older. To decrease a sickly look, make sure you get proper exercise, vitamins/nutrients!

yes. actually a lot of photos people post of their before and afters...I usually think they look much older in their afters. Of course, they are older!!! I think it just comes with the territory you know? We have fat in our faces that fill them out and make us have less wrinkles. As we get skinnier, it unfills showing our wrinkles and probably sagging a little. Saggy skin will also come with those of us who have a lot of weight to lose which causes the aging look. I wouldn't worry about something you can't control. Just know that even if you do look a little aged...your body will feel 20 years younger with the weight off.
