    Neck and shoulder pain

I'm day six today! I truly believe its "emotionally attached to food." I have same attachment I'm normally super busy, but now that I'm home, I'm watching T.V and BOY do they advertise FOOD! Hope GOD helps us! Good Luck!

    Postop: Week 2

22lbs in the first week?! No wonder the scale didn't move the second week! You are doing just fine. Great job on not letting that scale get to you!

    Surgery done...Day 12!

Thank you for your honesty. I am pre op and I am the kind of person who wants to know the good, the bad and the ugly to give me the full perspective of what I could endure. I know this surgery is just rainbows and butterflies. Great post!

My skin looks dry and wrinkley, but I am 55. It may be lack of water as I can't get it all in yet. 4 weeks out.

    Tomorrow is the big day!

It's 7:15am here in SoCal. You're probably in the midst of your procedure. I'm thinking about you....and I'm EXCITED for you! Please let us know how you're doing, when you're up to it. This is the first day of the REST of your life :-) You've done a really good thing for yourself.....

    People need to grow up!!!!!

How rude and terrible!! People amaze me! But here is the thing. Although losing weight may stop the moo'ing noises from ignorant jackasses...it won't cure MEAN. There will always be something or someone that will comment negatively about something and potentially hurt your feelings. From this day forward...hold your head high, be proud of your accomplishments thus far, work on self esteem and self worth. I promise....MEAN won't ever affect your identity!

What is happening to my skin

Absolutely! I usually have pretty good skin. As soon as I started the prep diet I got dry patches, blotchy skin, and acne. I still am having issues 3 weeks post op. I think it is just lack of proper nutrition, electrolyte imbalances, and hormonal imbalances. Just like we have the possibility to lose hair our skin suffers. I am still also having trouble with my tongue. It should get better with time. Till then we are going to look pretty scary. Good luck!!

    surgery was 12 days ago

He seems to be doing well with it. I have made a special point to recognize what this all has meant to him and how it has affected him, and Ive tried to give lots of positive reinforcement. For example, I made a point to thank him profusely for the TLC he gave during my recovery, and I continue to show gratitude. I also acknowledged that him having to watch me go through surgery must have been really scary and nerve-racking, and I was sorry he had to go through that & see me in the hospital. Sometimes it means the world to just validate your loved one's feelings, ya know? But now that I seem to get better exponentially every single day....I believe he would agree this was the right decision.
