    Two weeks out and learning

    Oh dear Judy <<<HUGS>>> This was one of the most challenging times for me also fighting the battle with head hunger rearing its ugly HEAD! This WILL get better, but it WILL take time. Avoiding these triggers is a great option for now. :-) Today I had a conversation with my NUT and asked how long I would have to battle the 'head hunger' and/or food fight...and she said FOREVER, imagine my mouth drop... I keep telling myself that they only did surgery on my STOMACH not my brain/thoughts.... Keep your chin up! Here on VST we are rooting for you! Best of Luck! -Cassie

    Two weeks out and learning

    Judy, I thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I was thinking that it was just me going the the food battle in my head. I found my self looking at the food channels something I have never done in my life. Now, I'm trying to watch it every chance I get. I'm praying to have a better day, and to keep my mind focused on the prize I'm down 35lbs since my first doc visit on May 13. So I know I have to do better, but Lord knows it HARD AS ALL GET OUT!!!!

    Water Park Day

    This is a really great blog entry! So true all those things that affect the scale --- very wise words. I'm blown away by how well you'e done -- 80 lbs! Gone! And it seems like just yesterday that you were going in for surgery Your hard work -- and I believe you ARE working hard to be spending all that time in the gym! -- it's all paying off and will for the rest of your life. Well done my friend very inspiring.

    Water Park Day

    That is so great that you were able to have fun at the water park!! I'm also happy about your relationship with the gym, weight training and cardio. I hope to be in your shoes by next summer (preferably sooner). I just love your description of the scale - it's true it is unreliable - yet such an important part of our life and self esteem

    1st day back at work

    Congrats on the two weeks and the weight loss! I understand about the frustration with the job; however, I can only say that as you lose weight you gain confidence and that confidence will take you into the next stage or season of your life (as least it did for me). You'll ride up/down in an elevator with co-workers and you will not look at the floor but hold your head up and begin a conversation. You will have a sense of peace about who you are and that is worth more than any job. Stay the course, treat yourself with gentleness and kindness, remember this is a journey and enjoy the heck out of that journey. You got this.

    Tomorrow= One Month Post Op

    I'm exactly a month out in a few days! My snacks include cheese (baby bell, string, muenster cheese) or a cold cut. My go to are the baby bells because you can throw then in your pocket (purse in my case) and forget about it until you remember you need to snack. And they're 6g protein!

    Wow, congratulations. It's great to know you can go out again and be social. I'll be sleeved on 05/06 and I have a party at the end of May so I hope I can be/act normal there.
