Haha too funny I am pre-op surgery is June 25th and I felt such a rush of excitement when I paid off my Lane Bryant credit card off and said I will never go there again!!!!! I have enough sizes to get me through my weight loss up until a size 16...can't wait to just walk into any store and buy cute clothes!!!!

    Last "fat" Shopping Trip

Boy can I relate to this - I don't know what Jessica London, Roamans, Woman Within, Avenue, Lane Bryant, and OneStopPlus are going to stay in business with all of us working to go into normal sizes. I never thought I would look forward to buying cheap clothes!!!

    Last "fat" Shopping Trip

Good post. My surgery was in January. So for the holidays i was in need of nice party clothes. The thought of giving the high priced fat stores one more penny was killing me. So - i went to a consignment shop. Shockingly - beautiful clothes for almost nothing. And i only wore what i bought once. Because a few weeks later- i was too small. yay

    No Regrets!

Both my parents died a month and two weeks apart 6 years ago. My mom died of heart failure due to morbid obesity. Upon reading that on her death certificate I have been on this journey to have this surgery. The prize date is 7/22/13. Once I lined up my ducks with the health insurance a year ago, nothing I do mean nothing is stopping me in reaching my goal For this assistance to have a healthier life. So yes there are those of us that will do 'it' and as the results start to show and we no longer take meds for high blood pressure, or have to spend money on pose pads doing 'it' will have been worth it. I am truly sorry for the loss of your loved one. Hang in there. Continued success on your journey. Karen

Will I be back to normal tomorrow?

As much as I couldn't wait for real food, I was also scared about having an episode; like the ones we read about. Because of that, I ate SO slow, and my bites were extra tiny. I paid close attention to how each bite felt, and little by little, I found my comfort zone. Certain things didn't feel good. They didn't make me sick, but I just didn't like the way they felt; made me a bit nauseous. So I excluded those things, and stuck to what felt comfortable. All the ground meats worked very well. Eggs, sort of hit & miss. Sometimes (even three months out), if I eat them in the morning, I'll taste them for hours. Not sick, just grossed out. Just a suggestion..... On the fruits & veggies, make sure the veggies are cooked until they're very soft. Fruit and vegetables have been tricky for me. Some cause immediate discomfort as soon as they hit my stomach. You'll be fine! It's okay to be a little scared, because that will help keep you focused on what you need to do. In the beginning, all of the teeny tiny slow eating helped me to retrain myself. If I'm preoccupied while eating, I may forget, but only momentarily. Good luck!

    Pre-Op Liquid Diet

You may want to look at a whey isolate protein, it is better for us. It sounds like you need more good protein.
