    Seven days out and my eyes are open

    i got it an I am not quite 50 yet...lol I am 3 mos out. I spent my post op time off work watching the food channel. I did ok. But my husband is very supportive and he tried to not eat in front of me if he thought I would really like what he was eating. I however, dont have small children. So I now have a rule that if I feel I absolutely cannot pass up something. 3 bites. 3 bites...(i don't mean a mouthful) I mean 3 bites. but i am not finding a lot of things I cant pass up. For me this tool is my way to keep the weight off. I am determined to do this. And, the NUT training before hand did help so much. It is a life changing process. We will lose some battles. BUT WE WILL WIN THE WAR.....

    Hello there, I got it but then again I am 50 , lol, I am 3 weeks out and I know exactly what you are saying. My family still wants to eat and they do miss my cooking. Both my hubby and my son have actually lost weight since my surgery because I am not spoiling them with those extra yummy things that made me fat in the first place. You are right, we can do this, we do have that inner determination and strength acquired by years of experience. Why on earth would anybody go through all of this just to cheat themselves in the end.     You said it girl! I think I lost 40 lbs or so and gained them back.... I am wondering if anyone here knows how to start a new thread... I am looking for a lot of support from other bandsters since I am reclaiming my band which I had been ignoring for a couple of years now, after much thinking, and even thinking about removing it, I am going to give the band and myself another chance, today I am going for my first fill after three years, please wish me luck and if anyone wants to befriend me I am here, I need all the help I can get from you guys, I think most of you know, it is from strangers you get the support and kindness, and the understanding since we are going through the same thing, I feel sometimes among family and friends our efforts get sabotaged....

    no band but he goes to the gym with me and we watch his food intake together. he was very sick 2 years ago and has lost about 50-60 pounds.

    I am on day 19 and I went through the light headedness too but it is finally gone. I felt better when I started eating a little bit more than broth and popsicles. Good luck!

    Is it normal to feel weak and tired?

    Well, let's see.... not only are you asking your body to just live on minimal energy, but you are asking also asking it to workout on minimal energy. Your body needs food. Yes it can use fat to "survive", but it's going it's not going to be "energetic". You have got to eat the minimal 600 - 800 calories (the top of that range if you are working out), and you have to get in the required fluids and protein. So no, it's not normal to feel weak & tired if you are following the eating guidelines.... but yes you will feel weak & tired if you are not giving your body what it needs. Also, are you taking those Vitamins including B-12?? Give your body what it needs, and it will give you the energy you need.

    Wearing a size 14

    Hey, we wear the same size! LOL I use to wear a size 26W, and can now wear a 12/14 depending on the clothes. Doesn't it feel fantastic? My goal is size 12 comfortably. Congrats, and you'll get to your goal! You go girl!
