Pre-op dieting was definite the hardest part of the entire process, other than the waiting. Hang in there!!

    solids in 2 days...help

Congratulations! Did your dietitian give you a menu to follow? Chicken is usually a good one to try. Just remember, chew chew chew and take your time. Soft veggies, like green beans, butternut squash. If you have trouble with something like chicken you can use gravy, tomato sauce etc. I love salmon, very soft. Good luck.

    Pouring salt in my wound....

Daughter brought me a cup of chicken tortilla soup from red robin. Put me over almost 100 calories, but was worth it.

    T-minus 7 hours and counting

Wow...that's great, I am due to have my surgery June 2013, I am so nerveous, I'm reading everything I google and some. I'm 227 lbs, and stand 5'3 and sometimes I wonder am I making the right choice (should I have the band instead). I know because of my weight I have developed health issues such as gout, PE, shortness of breath, and I do take blood pressure pills. I am receiveing lots of support from my husband and child (who is 24 yrs old). So reading your outcomes give me comfort.

    Why I Did This

Thank you for sharing your story. You will read that all of our stories have a similar tone. We have tried everything and nothing works. Gather all the knowledge you can about the surgery and from reading these boards. It is the best thing I have done for myself but it wasn't without alot of hard work and a small complication. Good luck to you! Congrats on taking your life back.
