I am so happy for you. I'm sorry I haven't responded yet to your message. I actually wrote a whole long letter and then the computer I was on shut off (it is not my computer) and everything was lost and I was like crap!!!!! But as for my opinion...stay in Kailua if you can. It is close by, more beautiful, less traffic, easy to find parking, free parking etc. You don't know how good or ill you will feel afterwards. The less stairs, bumps in the rode, time in the car etc. will be loads better than having to travel to Waikiki. I mean who knows you could wake up and feel absolutely nothing, but just in case. Also if you or your hubby forget something, then your abode is like five minutes away instead of half an hour.

    First Day

Thank you ... This is pretty hard; but like you my husband definitely will not eat anything I will not be able to around me which is wonderful ... He even put the grill away so no more grilling until I am able to nibble on something from the grill lol... I understood it was going to be difficult I just didn't really think about how difficult ... But << MIND OVER MATTER>>> IS THE KEY

    First Day

for me the first 4 or 5 days it was (hard). my hub, who I adore, actually did not eat in front of me pre or post op. bless his heart.....but it will get easier...keep drinking, keep your mental attitude in check. it seems like forever, but the pre and post is only for a small smidge of time...proud of ya

    Day 4 Post Op

Hang in there it does get better! I had trouble drinking anything but now I can drink two protein drinks a day plus water! I had mine on 3/27/13. One day at a time!

    Day 4 Post Op

Hang in there it will get better. Work on fluids over protein if you have too. If you don't get enough fluids you may get nauseous. Just something to look out for. Cut yourself some slack, rest, walk, stay hopeful for the change which will come.
