So optimistic. . . then kaploowey!

I don't think you are being petty at all and sometimes it helps to vent. But remember that her reality is her reality--it actually would suck to have to get all new clothes from gaining weight, even if it is a size 2 to a size 6. I would try not to compare yourself to her (I know it's difficult!) and think of her as an ally. Remember that she may be trying to be supportive in her own way...and if not, you can distance yourself. But remember...keep your friends close, and your "enemies" closer! LOL. You never know, she may end up being a great part of your support system! If she is trying to be healthy too it will be nice to have someone else there who is eating healthy, and maybe you can even go on walks together at lunchtime--etc.

    AFTER SURGERY THEN WHAT?

My stomach didn't tolerate salad/broccoli/cauliflower/or any kind of fruit till about the 3rd month. Week 1 was pretty much nothing - I was feeling so much pain, I couldn't eat. Week 2 - 4 was protein drinks and Cream of Chicken soup. Weeks 5 - 8, I was eating grilled chicken I ran through the food processor, refried beans and salsa pretty much 24/7. Since then, my stomach will grumble but tolerate - tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, and (insert any fibrous vegetable here). And it grumbles but tolerates any fruit I've tried - apples, bananas, strawberries, grapes, pineapple. All you can do is test your stomach with a very small bite and wait a few minutes to see how it responds.

None Scale Victories of the week :)

LOL...I just did a blog this week about my NSV. I agree, we have to keep our eyes open for the little things we don't think about. Those things aren't as obvious as the scale but in the long run I think they are more important! And you reminded me of 2 others that I didn't put in my blog. I can lean down to tie my shoes without being out of breath. And my libido is also at a whole new level....my "poor" hubby got attacked the other day (middle of the day with the kids home We got done and he was like "ummm...ok....this works for me LOL
