Are you a Pessimist or an Optimist

Wow! Incredible blog! Thank you for sharing this very intimate time with us. Today I looked in the mirror after reading your post and asked the question. Today I am an optimist and if tomorrow it's the other......I will choose "the optimist". I lost my Mom to ovarian cancer 4 years ago, and like your Mom so eloquently stated. "We are ok...but we will never be the same." Good thoughts and intentions for you and your beautiful Mother.

    Bad Scale! Bad Bad Scale!

I hated the scale before the sleeve and still hate it . I was sleeved on Nov 13 , 2012 . start weight was 237 current 182-184 , The first month after my surgery I was addicted to weighing my self everyday and it was exciting to see the lbs drop. By the second month , It was driving nuts when I had stalls , to the point that I just decided to put the scale away only weigh myself every 2 weeks and that gave me some peace of mind . But............................... in the last 2 weeks i have fallen back to the obssesion of the scale and its driving me nuts again , some days the scale says 180 , another day is 184 . Over all I am happy with my weigh loss.

    Steps 1,2,3 and recovery

I had mine on March 20th and recovering at a normal pace, I'd say. My biggest complaint is not being able to sleep on my left side, where my incisions are. At least my surgeon left the right side untouched...I'm a side sleeper. Otherwise things have gone well and I'm already down 6 pounds!

I agree with you. I think most women, could be all, put everyone before their own needs and then we finally wake up. At least you're much younger than me for your wake up call. I take care of everyone still.
