    First attempt at smoothie 3-16-13

Hmm, maybe try more yogurt. I used a cup of vanilla yogurt and a cup of soy/coconut milk in my smoothies pre-op, and no ice cubes. Instead, I cut the whole banana up into slices, put it in a ziploc, and froze it, then added it to the blender.

Good luck! My hubby wasn't all that on-board at the time I made the decision either, but once he went to the information seminar and got to talk to the surgeon a couple times at my appointments, he came around and is SO glad I did it. I'm 4 mos out and doing very well. I've lost quite a bit and fee great. You will do fine. If you have any questions....just ask! There are LOTS of us here who will be glad to help out as much as wel can.

    TIRED OF MIND GAMES

Please don't listen to the idiot troll Awanda, she/he/it is hitting every thread on here talking complete BS. Overcoming emotional eating and grazing is hard. I know that's something I've always struggled with too. I find distracting myself helps. I know this is going to sound weird, but night is my hardest time, so I've kinda "trained" my brain. Every night I brush my teeth and take a hot bath when I feel the urge to graze. Now, it's like a signal to my brain "oh it's bath and clean teeth time, we're done eating for the night". I know it sounds weird but it's worked. I also find keep safe food around for when I just have to have something. I really like both dill pickles and cucumbers. Both are zero calories, so when I need something I grab one. Hang in there.

    My Personal Experiment

Thank you for sharing. I was sleeved on the 13th. Gas is a killer no matter what I do. I have 10 burps for every sip of water. I hope it gets better soon. Keep us posted on how it goes. I too have no hunger though miss food but I know it will hurt me so can easily abstain. Take care!

I shop at Value Village every few weeks as I move between sizes. I have probably donated 20 bags of clothes in the past 10 months and bought 15 bags! Overall, a net drop (got rid of years of "fat" sizes I'd been saving). It's crazy how much room I have in my closet now! I can actually see each shirt, pair of pants, etc.! And I'm ready to wear most of them now! I buy some that are a bit small (some deals just can't be passed up!), knowing they will fit in a couple of weeks. Other "favourites" get to be too loose or tent-like fairly quickly, and off they go to the donation pile! I am much better dressed now, and spending 10% of what I used to! I could only shop in 1 store (Penningtons) as I was too big for the other "plus" size stores we have here in Canada (Additionelle, Laura Plus, etc.). I HATED having only 1 store to choose from.......if they didn't have something I like, and in my size (4-5 x or 26-28), I was stuck wearing the 2-3 shirts and pants I had. Terrible! Now I have about 10 dress shirts, 6-7 pairs of really nice dress pants, some jeans, T-shirts, sweaters, etc. All from nice top quality brand names, and they all fit! I'm about a size 16 now, in most things. I depends on the style and brand. And I usually pay about $6-7 per item.........and often they are brand new with tags on still! I LOVE shopping now.
