Can You Fail With The Sleeve?

I was having trouble with the idea of having surgery. I then started to think about food as an addiction. I asked myself whether or not a drug addict or an alcoholic who had the option to have surgery would do it, and whether or not their choice to do so would be frowned upon. This helped me with my decision to get the sleeve. This is a GREAT post. Thanks!

Great message Terry. One way to build those markers is by rewarding yourself so that you associate the reward (non-food) with your NSV. For example, when I could ride a certain distance I rewarded myself with a new road bike. That was pretty big reward but was all the more special because my husband initiated it. Another reward I gave myself was a new gold watch when I hit a scale goal. Since then I've had another link removed and it is loose again. Keep up your great work!

Aloha! you are doing awesome! I too lost weight slow slow slow... but my gosh I lost inches like crazy! I have finally given up the scale, it was hard to do but now I relish in the fact that I am wearing smaller size clothes! I enjoy your blog and look forward to meeting you!

I am feeling better about things. I am thinking I might actually revise my one day a week weigh ins...to only stepping on the scale when I go to the doctor. I've been thinking about it and I have been doing everything I have been told. When it is a month from now and still no weight loss..then I will worry. I don't want to obsess over the scale...so I think I am just going to FREE myself from that which binds me...THE SCALE...and just focus on working out, and eating right. Joatsaint...yes it feels amazing...I can't wait until I have to pull out a smaller size...soon...soon.

    I love my sleeve but...

I eat 6 times a day. Very small amounts, but I need to stretch it out. Try eating smaller amounts more frequently. Good luck!

It feels good when your pants are loose. Mine are getting a bit baggy, just not as fast as I'd like. :-) I don't take any measurements, I just see how far my hand will slide down between my gut and the steering wheel. :-P

    Progress is a slow process

I'm sorry that you are feeling so down. Just don't give up, you'll get there. What protiens drinks have you tried? In my bariatic surgery class they had us try different protien drinks before hand and I really liked the Body Fortress Whey Isolate powder with almond milk, it has 30g of protien and less than 1g of sugar per scoop. I get the chocolate one. Like cbd, I've tried the fruit flavored Isopure drinks as well and I really like them. Some shops offer sample sizes to try out so you won't waste money. By the way, that guy at your club meeting is a total jerk. Best of luck

    Progress is a slow process

First of all....don't get down on yourself. Everyones body is differant and people tolerate (or don't) differant things and lose wt at differant rates. I have had a few bouts with fatigue and find that it is directly related to my protein and fluid intake. Keep trying assorted types of protein. What I like prior to surgery I did not after and now use isopure (clear liquids protein drink with 40 gm of protein, 160 calories, 16oz) i get fluid and protein in at the same time. I have also just started using pure protein bars and added some dry roasted edamane. Good luck and keep trying!

    Lemon water or crystal light?

On my paperwork, citrus is the last thing added at I think 4 months out. Which stinks because I like to drink a lemon-kale-cucumber juice that tastes like lemonade to me.. without the lemon, it just tastes like lawn clippings. So I'm drinking up now before my surgery since i t will be a long time for me until I can have lemon again!
