    the trainer at the gym

Wearing a heart monitor and staying within zone 3-4 is the only workouts I will do....all cardio, 85% of max. heart rate..based upon your age.... I have found that running is the most efficient way to get there, but cycling and elliptical worked well also....but you have to increase the resistance to get your heart rate up....

    Rant: The Scale

I honestly only weigh once a week. I do it that way for my mental health. People have to work out a relationship with the scale according to their own needs, both physical and psychological. It's personal. I don't have patience for measuring, but I know my clothes are baggier.

    Rant: The Scale

I was just thinking about this earlier today. I weigh every day. I do. I know some people advise against it, but it's the only way I can tell about what I ate the day/evening before, or my period, etc. and how it affects me. Some days the weight stays the same - to the OUNCE! - talk about frustrating - but I take it in stride and go on. There's always a little block of chunk that comes off here and there, and I have to have faith in the process. I am not a fast loser, as they say, I am down 30 lbs in two and half months. But I'll take it!!

    Rant: The Scale

I always say this - obesity is a disease like any other and should be monitored closely. Would we tell a diabetic to not check their sugars? Hell no. I think people here SHOULD be weighing in at least weekly. I don't agree with all the "stay off the scale" nonsense either and I am glad to find someone who feels the same. I think its important to understand that there are a lot of factors that influence how and when the scale is going to move, but if you are afraid of the darn thing you will never learn and you'll always be leery of it for no reason. I know I hold water 3-4 days before and during my period. I wouldn't know that if I didn't have a pattern down.

    8 Week Surgiversary

OMG! Hi! I was sleeved on 12/5/12 too! You're doing fine on your weight loss. I've had the same problem where it's slowed down quite a bit but it's probably better for us because if you lose it too fast you have more loose skin and it's easier to gain back. I've lost 33 pounds so we are right together! Are you able to eat regular foods yet? If so, I'd like to give you some ideas. If you don't like water, have you tried putting a little bit of lemon juice in it? That helped me.

Congrats on your surgiversary!!!!! I too hate plain water, unless it is very very cold.

HELP ~ Business Meetings coming up....

Where there is a Will... there is a way!!! I just did quite a bit of searching on MFP for several food options. First of all, I need to remember that I'll never be able to eat a full serving offered by either of these restaurants. My guess is that I might be able to eat 1/4 of the meal, perhaps slightly more. I printed & emailed myself a bunch of food options I might consider so I can make a better educated choice. I found a "skinny" menu option for Maggiano's, which makes me giggle a little bit. The Cheesecake Factory, on the other hand, will present a bit more of a challenge. However, I decided that if I split that yummy cheesecake into 3 servings, I can satisfy my craving & not over do it. I expect during the 5 days of my business meeting that I will run into a few challenges. After doing a little homework, I feel better about myself. I have choices & I plan on making the best possible ones with the options I'm given! Bring it on.
