20 Weeks Post Op- W/ Pic

I think you look amazing! I am just beginning my journey but i have already realized that you can't make progress and feel good about yourself or anything you do if you are surrounded by negativity. I have a friend that is worried that if i become skinnier that i will treat her differently or become to good to hang out with her. My thoughts are if you are supportive then I don't care what I look like I don't turn my back on you. If you are negative, envious or jealous then I probably will be different. What's good for me may not be for you but if you truly care about me then your only concern should be at the end of the day if it makes me happy then you are happy. Too bad other people don't feel the same!

    Week 23 Post-Op

I should add that quite poignantly, that fortune was from my "last meal" at my favorite Vietnamese restaurant right before I started my liquid diet. It was like a little extra nudge that I made the right decision.

This has been true with me too! Nothing or little weight loss, and then boom! 3-5 pounds fall away.... I just keep going forward. As my fortune cookie I got (presurgery) told me, "Always remember where you are going and never forget where you've been."

Don't feel bad about them not using your number. You know how much you weighed and how much you lost and that is what matters. Keep using your number and claim those 18 pounds with pride! Btw, my surgeon's office shows me as weighing 5 pounds less than I did on surgery day, too. They are also going from the initial consultation but I gained 5 pounds between then and surgery. It may only be a 5 pound difference, but that's still 5 more pounds I lost and I'm claiming!

Great list! Keep this close to you (literally copy it and carry it with you) and when you're tempted by crap food or don't want to work out, take this list out and remind yourself of why you're on this journey. Just seeing it in print will be a great motivator.

What a great list! I know my list is similar to yours especially the item about the plane. I flew to africa a few years ago and the seat was uncomfortable and dug into my leg. I felt sorry for the person sitting next to me because I hogged the armrest meant for her. I will be excited when i lose all that weight and take another mission trip to africa and be comfortable. Good luck on reaching all those goals. When we dream big, amazing things happen!

Terrific list!!! I 'm going to make a list also. Seems like a great motivator to stay on track and remember why you're doing this. Congrats an going to the gym. Not an easy task when you want to be invisible;)

Moregan, Isn't it telling that we cannot take a complement at any weight! It's as though we cannot be comfortable in our skin period. I think that your fiance was very sweet last night. Take him at his word and trust that he is being honest with you. And, for all of us dealing with weight issues, please don't hate that girl that was once you. That person was just as worthy of his love as you are at your new weight. She is, and was, you! I am preop and it hurts me to see so many people talk badly about "that person" they were before weight loss. I hope that I can still embrace that women because she was brave. She was willing to sign up for this surgery even though it was scary. When she leaves the house she does so with her head high, even if there is pointing or snickers. When you feel unsure of yourself get in touch with that women because she has learned to look for other ways of coping. Some of them were not good (food) but she didn't quit! Good luck to you!
