Not sure if you realize this, but you posted this to your personal blog, not as a question to the forum, so you won't get the same exposure. But, to answer your question, you need some perspective. Pre-sleeve, your stomach could hold, let's say 80 oz fully distended. You just had most of your stomach removed and it now has a capacity of around 6 oz and can't distend. So, before, you would take an 8 oz bottle and chug it down, no problem. 8 oz into an 80 oz container ... you used 10% of the space. Now, fast forward to post-sleeve. 8 oz into a 6 oz container ... hmmm ... it's not going to be the same result. I'm over 18 months out and no, I cannot guzzle water the way I used to. I can't eat food the way I used to, either. But that is the way I wanted it and needed it. Once you get used to it, it is no big deal. I actually appreciate the fact I can't inhale food and/or drink now. That is part of what got me into trouble.

I believe the slower you lose it the less skin you develope. I now am developing extra skin. I went to se a plastic surgeon and he said I could do something now as simple as a tummy tuck. I to go through the same thing with my mom she losed her weight on weight watcher but she is small now and I say wow I will be there soon.

    3 weeks out...some buyers remorse.

Maybe it would help if you got a little creative with the things you are allowed...make mini casseroles (or atleast where it feels like a casserole)....like I use those little ramekins that you can bake in. The tiny little pyrex glass containers. You can put them in the oven or I use a toaster oven to cook in. Put some beans with cheese in one and bake it till cheese is bubbly...then u can use plain yogurt kinda like sour cream...I mix a little bit of taco bell salsa in it for flavor. Or make a Tuna Melt with your fish....same concept. At this point your wanting something different so dont be affriad to try things that sound kinda gross...like mix a little cream of brocolli soup with some tuna then a little cheese on top and bake it. Sounds nasty, but your getting a different flavor than the same old tuna all the time. Your only making 3-4 bites with your ingredients so if you hate it your not out much...try something else. Like mixing tuna and cheese to bake. Even make an egg bake...like a baby quiche. Scramble the egg....put in a little cheese or tuna and make a little bake. You can even use a microwave for these baby casserole bakes. Just try to come up with new ideas with what you have. Your doing great and its only going to get better as you can add more ingredients. Dont get in a rush...I know its frustrating...I still cannot eat anything I want...like fresh veggies...just to hard to digest...but I know I will someday...just like you will too!! Good luck!!

Maybe instead on the french dip sandwich and chips for dinner, you could have a grilled chicken salad with lite balsalmic vinegar dressing. If you really want the results that you desire then you have to work extremely hard to get it. Also, maybe you could begin hiking or swimming. Lastly, skip the hershey bars and save them for someone who isnt interested in losing weight. Stay focused!

I'm finally starting to run again, too. Well, "running" might be misleading... haha, but getting reacquainted is definitely true. Great job with taking on a 10k!! Best wishes! Keep us posted!

    My Mother-In-Law

I too am very sorry for your families loss. You have faced a lot of challenges these last few weeks and have done very well. You have been on here daily encouraging others and all the time facing a terrible pain in your own heart. I know your husband needs you right now, just as much as you need him and I hope you're together soon. I pray that God will give you peace in this difficult time!

    My Mother-In-Law

I am so sorry to hear about the loss for you and your family. She sounds like a very special woman. You, too, were very brave to go it alone and that same strength will help you in your success with the band. I hope your husband returns soon. Peace and love to you and your family.
