Dylan, this is the second time I've seen you post that recipe and I can just say one thing. I have seriously got to buy myself a blender... think it would work in the margarita machine? Gerhowzel - when I put my cappuccino protein powder in milk & stir, then shake (blender cup), I always stick it in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Just that little extra time helps it not be powdery or clumpy anymore. I tried drinking it right after mixing and Yeuccccch! Talk about nasty! It was like sipping CLUMPS of flavored mud. Trial & error....

    Lapband didn't work for me

I just want to say I agree with the other replies here. I've read countless stories about LB patients who went a year or more with minimal weight loss. Through trial and error they were able to pinpoint why they weren't losing. Once they changed just a few minor things, the weight started coming off quickly. Definitely track your food (myfitnesspal app is free for your phone) and speak with a nutritionist. Wishing you the best of luck!

    Pre-Op Begins today.. :(

Thanks for that great advice! I have invested lots of $$$$ in protein shakes but didn't even think about the meal replacement. I love this website I start my liquid diet on 12/12 in 4 short days which moves me 4 days closer to surgery on 12/26/12

Not protein shakes, Meal Replacement Shakes! The difference? One keeps you full and the other offers liquid protein. You should save the protein drinks for after surgery. Buy the Equate Meal replacement shakes at walmart. 6pk is 4$ which is enough for 2 days or the 12pk is $8.88. i lost 15lbs in 10 days with them.

    Pre-Op Begins today.. :(

I'm dying here. I went to Rite Aid on my break, bought a shaker bottle, and a 4 pack of EAS myoplex carb sensitive protein shakes. They have 25g of protein so the 4 pack should last me for today right? I have a 5 lb tub of whey protein at home that I completely forgot this morning so I guess I'll be using that until surgery day.. these shakes are expensive. I have my handy dandy Jack Lananine Power Juicer so I'll go in on a few vegetable juices over the next few weeks or so.. only thing with juicing is that you go through soooo many vegetables at once.

How Much Do We Really Eat?

Hi dinnh, I take 2 egg whites,a scoop of french vanilla protein powder ( disolved in a little water)Add to that a little half and half (30ml).Now I add Ispagulla husk to it (20g of fiber)I allow the fiber to swell up and then I make sweet, but not too sweet, pancakes with it.The consistency of my mix is different all the time though as I just chuck things together. I eat it with sf maple syrup and it is a meal and pudding for me all in one. The cals is 150 protein is 34 and it is very filling. Some days I eat this in 2 portions as morning and afternoon snack as Im trying to spread the protein out over the day.
