1st thingis relax it does get better! 2nd focus your energy on understanding that your body is at the beginning of a new process so it has to adjust and there will be some thing that you can no longer tolerate. find things that are light on your stomach. I find eating foods that are heavy are very uncomfortable and make me vomit. Eat sllloooowwww! this is the best thing to do as big people we tended to eat fats large bite, but we no longer have the stomach capacity we had but our brains don't know that yet so we tend to try and eat like before. listen to your body. right now its out of wack and trying to tell you slow down until I adjust. i will pray for your healing and remember this is the start of the journey and it really is worth it for your health.

    Dang..........

I didn't know they had a muscle milk lite! I may have to try that because the original was too sweet for me. I do like the Atkins shakes - I am planning on starting with those since I know they are ok. I admire your motivation! Keep up the great work. You will be at 230 in no time..

    Random musings before surgery

LOL, you are so funny. I never even thought of that. Do you wax now??? I've always been too embarrassed to do that. So, let's see... hmmm... maybe a quick clean-up with a razor would be fine. I don't think they're going to be examining the shape of your "landing strip" or anything, haha! I actually DID think maybe I should go in for a pedi, LOL. I know I'll have socks on, but I think it will just make me feel better. The only other major-type "surgery" I've ever had was giving birth and I always made sure I had pretty toes for that, for some odd reason. Now you have me worrying about my nether regions, LOL.

Yes indeed it will get better, I agree with Mr. Polite, your body is going through a dramatic transformation. And you have to learn how to eat and drink all over again. I did go through the vomiting and the dehydration and I was hospitalized. But I started using a spoon to drink sips of my beverages and I ate a lot of ice chips and popsicles that helped me a lot until I was able to learn to drink slowly. I also was hospitalized for constipation and had to have 7 stitches, but no regrets. I finally pulled it all together and I am doing wonderful and you will too. Do not give up and stay positive, because I will be praying for your health and success on your journey:) Did your Doctor give you some patches for nausea, they go behind the ear, and they work wonders. I had to wear them for 2 months after my surgery, because I was always dizzy and nauseated, but I never had any pain. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it will be all worth it:)

Week 16 Post op - First Gain :(

Great information. Thanks for sharing. I am 1 1/2 weeks out from surgery and have lost 17.1 pounds. I am a movie person and have never went to the movie without having popcorn. When I regain eating, I will definitely remember your blog and I know it will help me to make the right decision. You are awesome. Keep sharing.

so sorry you're going through this, i can relate and understand your frustration. i also had problems with my drs office, and when i was denied last minute-it was like i no longer existed and niether did the hernia that they were going to repair during my surgery. i had to figure things out on my own and after many months-i've been approved, even though my surgery dates alreay been changed (again) and i'm still trying to figure out RNY or sleeve. (there's a longer story there) but basically i just want to tell you there's hope-keep at them until they do what needs to be done. wishing you well
