1 Week Post-Op Update With Picture

Tenille, I by no means want you to be scared!! I didn't realize what all I was going to be going through emotionally. I thought I was prepared, but I wasn't as well as I thought. I'm doing this for my children, as you know, so they whole not being able to lift them thing has been horribly hard on me. They are doing okay with it, but I'm not... To be honest, I just had a rough day yesterday. It was one thing after another after another. Little things piled into big things. I think we are all going to have off days and we just need to brave through it, move on and wake up to a brand new day. You will do absolutely wonderful with your surgery. On those hard days, just know that we are all here for you. Been there, done that. We get it, we understand like no one else around you will.

    Stress

Ya know what? I really like the music idea. This might sound crazy, but now that I think about it, I've always found music by Pink Floyd to be very soothing & relaxing. I'm going to have to do this.. Thanks! :-)

My surgery date was the 7th Nov, so I think we're at about the same stage. I haven't felt anything as overt as you, but it sounds like your just experiencing a bit of grief for your old relationship with food. Eating was obviously a big part of all our lives! This feeling will pass, as you develop a healthy relationship with food and know your new limitations you'll value that food is nurturing you and not abusing you. You have done the right thing. Deano

Very well said Jenipher!! Sometimes our families aren't going to understand what we are going through, heck sometimes WE don't understand what we are going through, but we all have each other, this has been a very useful support group.... But like the sleeve, it's only a tool ---- WE have to use it! Every day is a new day --- don't give up, keep the prize in mind! Janessa

Atlast83 I am so sorry you had a bad day with your sleeve we all do. Tomorrow will be better when we start to accept our new lives and stop trying to make the old life fit then we embrace the new us. I was riding around with my husband and he started asking about what I wanted to eat. I thought to myself idk, nothing. Then he said I'm getting a burger and fries from McDonald's. I said get me a coffee cause there's nothing I can eat there that won't make me sick. I have to be strong for me no one else will. You have to be strong for you this change is for you. We have each other to lean upon. Keep leaning until you can stand then you can be someone else's pole. Lol!! Take care Jenipher!
